    1. A very interesting look at not only the building of the World Trade Center but of the birth of New York City. This was published only a month after the attacks on September 11, 2001. The images of the striking twin towers on the Manhattan skyline are captured for posterity. The death toll mentioned in the book was, thankfully, overstated at close to 5,000 whereas the final number of casualties was 2,667.

    2. Not bad at all. You have to bear in mind that this book came out in the wake of the 9/11 disasters, so there a bit more emotion cuts through the otherwise objective nature of the narrative, which does a great job of telling the story of lower Manhattan, from it's colonial days onward.
