    1. Reviewed for theereaderjunkie.wordpressWhat a lovely surprise ! After reading 2 books which didn't thrill me, I was wondering if I was entering a reading slump but no, Marie Harte proved me wrong. This is part of a series written by different authors, yet can be read as a standalone. In this hot little novella, there are unlucky witches that can turn into their own familiar because they can't afford to have one, grey aliens with strange snake tattoos (it made me think about J. Armentrout), vamps, [...]

    2. I ended up really liking this story, but I had to wade through the MOUNDS of world building information that gets dumped on you in the first chapter or so before it clicked with me. It was an intimidating amount of info. Seriously. Mallory West, witch and down-on-her-luck barmaid, finds herself transported to a strange new world when her boss gives her access to the upper level of his club. She meets snake-people, evil vampire-like aliens and finds her inner power while fighting her attraction t [...]

    3. Excellent short story, a mix of paranormal, futuristic and fantasy characters. Original plot and dialog.HERO is the Leader of the Talian race, whose God sends him a gift in the form of a down-on-her-luck witch from EarthENES/CONTENT: few/eroticGENRE/TONE: futuristic, paranormal/lightLECNGHT: 78 pages

    4. I really enjoyed this book but did not realize it's #4. I will definitely check out the rest. This is a fun story taking place in a world where there are witches , warlocks and shifters. However, Mallory, a witch and kick-ass heroine, travels to a new world in an alternate dimension and meets the love of her life, Core, and finds out his "true self" is a snake. He is not a shifter a new race for me. HIs world also has vampire like creatures. All in all, it is a new twist on the paranormal for me [...]

    5. Got this based on the sample download, which sounded intriguing. The author writes well, her wording was elegant, the characters were well defined and the setting/ worldview imaginative.Unfortunately, the downloaded sample was not very indicative of the content, which is primarily erotica rather than fantasy. One of the reviews implied sex scenes but did not indicate the graphic nature of the descriptions. I am not a puritan, but I simply don't enjoy extremely graphic descriptions and I prefer m [...]

    6. I don't usually like the gray (or blue) skinned, many-legged alien creatures as romantic interests but Core was a great "guy" from a planet that idolizes women and children. He may be gray-skinned and shift into a ginormous snake but Mallory found him hot and erotic as hell and of course, he's her mate! This is the first Marie Harte book I've read but it certainly won't be the last. I totally loved it.

    7. Good short read, but wished it was a bit longer to build a much stronger story, worth a read but it is now probably going to gather virtual dust sitting in my hard drive. Mallory was a bit too 'super' for me, being able to project and heal people from near death to teleporting, but hey it's a short erotic paranormal read.

    8. A strange new world is nicely fleshed out in a short story. Just long enough to tell the story of the main characters without feeling shortchanged. Even though there's a lot of sex, the story was still substantial.

    10. I was tricked. I read the sample and was interested enough to purchase only to find myself wondering what I was reading, and why. I'm all for other world/fantasy but this was just an annoying read "A Familiar Face" was abandoned very quickly.

    11. Better than I anticipated. It is not a long book, but for as short as it is, it feels complete. I didn't feel cheated in plot, characters, anything. Plenty of action, likeable characters. Good read.
