    1. A compelling story beautifully told. This is the first book I've read by this author and I've enjoyed it immensely. It is not often that a non-Greek author manages to capture the Greek psyche - as well as life in Greek villages - with such a great measure of authenticity and I was really impressed by that. The heroine, Eve, faces a huge shock to discover that she has ancestry in Greece she never knew of. As a reader I found myself following her eagerly and excitedly along her journey through unch [...]

    2. A throughly entertaining modern murder mystery set on the island of Rhodes. The plot drew me in from the first page and I was soon immersed in the twists and turns - with quite a surprising turn of events at the end. No spoilers here, suffice to say this an excellent read.

    3. There is something wonderful about reading books set in Greece. And this book doesn't disappoint. It has a great storyline with excellent characters, and there is a brilliant twist towards the end.I definitely recommend it. I look forward to reading more by this author.

    4. Disappointed I!mmenselNo where bears as good in content as his three previous Books. Too much political and more like a travel guide very few events that added color variety regarding events not related their own day to day lives. I point he needs to be disputed on. He blames American culture for Greece and Europe’s graffitiProblem. I’ve been to Greece and Europe. I speak and read the language in fact full blooded Greek am i. The graffiti I witnessed in Greece and Europe referred to politica [...]

    5. This is a lively and enchanting account of living in Greece, on the island of Rhodes, written by a long-time expatriate. In his first book, Feta Accompli, John Manuel told a rambling story of how he came to fall in love with his wife, Yvonne-Marie – and the country of her birth, of how they drove all across Europe with their worldly goods to settle into half of a half-finished duplex on a raw building site of new properties. The sequel is a much more polished account, and even better – ornam [...]

    6. I live in Greece on an island near Rhodes, where author John Manuel has made his home for many years now, and I found this collection of writings about life in Greece completely entertaining and full of useful and interesting information on cultural nuances and everything from cheap and simple ways to keep pests off your fruit trees to a poignant assessment of the true cost of cheap all-inclusive holidays for both the locals and the consumer. You gain an insight into the very rewarding life he a [...]

    7. A humorous refection of moving to a Greek island, an easy read that flits back and forth between the 70's and 2004/5

    8. read this on holiday in rhodes - it really made the placed described come alive - it's entertaining but a little bitty
