  1. While reading this book, I thought to myself that I am only continuing with this series out of obligation. I've been reading the "God" series since the first book. I recall the first book being well-written and I felt for the characters. Over time, however, the plots became more ridiculous and this book was no exception. While I realize that no one is perfect, Annette changed so much by the final book that I hardly recognized or respected her character. I found her to be quite silly. Considering [...]

  2. Not as good as the other books in the series. Has its moments where it's good but then it also can be boring and drag.

  3. I read without the apiary knowledge that this was a six part 'God' series. Once I picked it up, it had me intrigued from the start so much I started researching the author. I wanted to know more about her as a person and I'm looking to one day go to a book signing to see her in person. This is when I believe I learned that this series is part biographical-some portions from her personal journeys in life. I enjoy her old school flair that pops up in the books, the quick tongue lashings and sayings [...]

  4. This 6th book's story line was really good. I was really happy when Jade got what she deserved. I was very happy & my heart broke for Rhoda. Annette got on my nerves as usual, she pays too much attention to other people business & not her own. I really liked the ending.

  5. Reviewed by: Amie LouBook provided by: PublisherReview originally posted at Romancing the BookWhen I cracked open this book, I expected an inspirational story of strife and longing, a change of heart. A book that when I put it down I would say to myself, ‘How incredible.’ And I would walk around for days thinking and mulling over the profound instances that happened between those pages. Instead, I got a story about people I couldn’t identify with and sparks of inspiration buried deep withi [...]

  6. God Don’t Make Mistakes is the final installment in the “God don’t” series by Mary Monroe. The series follows the lifes and adventures of two childhood friends: Annette and Rhoda. These ladies have survived it all from molestation to breast cancer, from prostitution to the death of a child. They make it through these challenges because of their unshakeable friendship. This bond is again tested as the ladies find themselves at odds about the best interest of their daughters. Annette’s d [...]

  7. (FROM JACKET)Theses days, Annette Goode Davis has a pretty full plate-literally and figuratively. Although she's trying to reconcile with her husband, Pee Wee, she's still seeing other men on the side. A woman's got to cover her bases, right? With her love life hopping, Annette should be as pleased as punch. Instead, the stress has her eating everything in sight and packing on the pounds along the way. Meanwhile, Annette's best friend, Rhoda O'Toole, has her hands full-as usual-dealing with her [...]

  8. (SPOILERS INSIDE) The first book in the series was definitely the best. I started losing interest in the story lines around book #3 or #4, but kept reading out of loyalty and curiosity. This was apparently the last book and the saga has ended, which makes me sad. I'm really sad to read how Jade finally turned out. She got worse and worse with every book and was just completely out of control, and a tad unbelievable in this last book.At any rate, the rest of the story was very good with good less [...]

  9. I'm sorry to see the end of this series. I have really enjoyed getting to know Annette and Rhoda; PeeWee and Otis. This final chapter is just as shocking as the rest of the series and we delve inside Annette's mixed up life from page one. Although I do have to say that some of Annette's decision are annoying. I found myself wanting to grab the chick and shake her. I mean, when your child tells you that someone's not making her comfortable, you figure out what's up with that person. There are too [...]

  10. I would have to agree with the other reviews I've read about this book. Although I love Mary Monroe's writing, I feel that since this was the last of the series it should have held a little more punch. What it tells me is Ms. Monroe was running out of ideas for these characters and pretty much wanted to get something written to close out the series. Although not one of my favoites by this author I still enjoyed it.

  11. I really enjoyed this book, even though I only read but one more in the series. The characters were authentic and transparent. This makes me want to go back and trace the personal lineage of each character and how they developed. Although I'm tracing backwards, I look forward to reading the other books in the series. Again, easy, yet emotionally authentic novel.

  12. I did enjoy this book. I was disappointed in the characters as well as how it ended. It is sad to see that the series is over but maybe Monroe will start some new characters for another series. Great author.

  13. What another great read in this series of Annette and Rhoda, throughout all of these books they go through somethings but in the end they are true loyal friends.

  14. Wow! Victory is always good. This was a very touching good book. I wish the events took another turn, but in the end everyone is a winner. I can't wait to read Mrs. Monroe other series

  15. It started off a little slow but ended up being pretty good. Im glad i borrowed it from one if my nook friends instead of purchasing it myself. Not worth buying it in my opinion.

  16. This book was great just like all rest it just tells you never take anyone for granted because god really dont make mistakes when it comes to happiness.

  17. Mary Monroe's last book in this series surely gives support to the statement what God brings you tohe can and will bring you through. I've read every book in this series. I was excited about reading this book after reading the previous one. I'm also elated that this is the last in the series. She takes the reader on a ride. We've had the pleasure of reading about two friends in the throes of life: loving and infidelity in the relationships, breast cancer, raising children and other vices such as [...]

  18. Not impressed all and I used to love this series. I listened to the audiobook this time. I didn't like the reader, some of the language didn't make much sense. My biggest issue was that the story just didn't seem authentic. I've read the other books years and years ago and somehow missed this one. I should have left it that way. The most irritating thing is how much the author chooses to compare EVERYTHING. Here is there is fine and often serves a novel well. But this book is over loaded with co [...]

  19. This book starts out very slow. I was about 125 pages into it before it became interesting. I am a fan of Monroe's writing and most of her books but I am glad to see that this series is ending because it is evident she is running out of idea's in this series. However, I did enjoy this book. I liked the epilogue so that we are not left wondering what will happen with these characters. It's been a long journey since I read the first book in the series and I think it ends well. Thank you Ms. Monroe [...]
