    3. There are a lot of insights of human life that I can learn from this amazing bookI love the way he wrote all of the stories which were contained of enchanting messages for anyone who read it, especially me. It helps me smile, wrinkle my eye brows whenever I didn't get the point yet of one story, helps me passing my day, even when I got stuck by the traffic jam.In short, I must say that this book is loveabled I love it.

    5. Each Christmas, we have an exchange of gifts. The actual exchange of gifts take place during the annual Christmas party. Anyway, all employees were asked to create a *wish list*. The wish list contained all (or some) of the things that we would like to receive for Christmas. Last Christmas (2011), I was collecting Nicholas Sparks' books. This Christmas (2012), I was collecting Paulo Coelho books. So, naturally, I wrote down *Paulo Coelho books* on my wish list. To cut the story short, I received [...]

    6. I will admit one thing,if not for my brother , i would not have read this book or for the matter any books of his. My friends used to recommend his books, but i had always stayed away from his books. From what i have heard, his books always sounded Philosophical, which for me is the other name for Boring . I have never been into books of that category. I stay away from Self Help books. I tried reading it once since an avid reader should read all types of Genre. But sadly , it resulted in a "read [...]

    7. Like the Flowing River is a collection of Paulo Coelho’s stories and articles which were published in different newspapers around the world.Like the Flowing River is definitely one of Coelho’s best, for me. It contained his thoughts and reflections on different things—from the story of the pencil to a piece of bread that fell wrong side up. I’m amused at how he sees the Universe. How he comes up with various realizations out of the simplest things that happen in his life. This proves that [...]

    9. Oh, why do I even bother anymore with Coelho? His books are easy (read: shallow) reads but leave a bad aftertaste, much like how I feel after I'm done bingeing on junk food. Write about spirituality in a stripped, simplified way, sprinkle in some pseudo-intellectualism and voila - you get a world famous author with little substance. Coelho should be taught two things: one is that nuanced writing is a much better approach in philosophizing, and two, it would do the readers good if he could tone d [...]

Shut up and do something interesting."Book: "What if I tell you stories about the essence of life?"Reader: "Sounds alright."Book: "A and B had an argument and stopped talking to each other. A died suddenly. B was sad because he had never apologised to A. Not talking to each other is very sad. 12. I never thought that a man can really be so profound and inspiring even in his daily life, until I read Paulo Coelho’s Like the Flowing River. Before I read this book, I have read Coelho’s book “The Alchemist”, and just credited him for a wonderful work of art. But after reading this book, I discovered that Coelho is not only a masterful writer but also a man full of wisdom in real life.Like the Flowing River is a gleaning of accounts of his experiences, stories he had been told and thoug [...]

    14. Its full of open thoughts and refections, and it's like pieces of of fragmented mind of an author that he/she is continuously trying to gather. I loved it.

    18. Dari Bab "The Prayer that I Forgot", demen banget dah gua Lord, protect our doubts, because Doubt is a way of praying. It is Doubt that makes us grow because it forces us to look fearlessly at the many answers that exist to one question. And in order for this to be possibleLord, protect our decisions, because making Decision is a way of praying. Give us the courage after our doubts, to be able to choose between one road and another. May our YES always be a YES and our NO always be a NO. Once we [...]

    19. I don't know how to explain my love for this book. It was a surprised gift from a new lovely friend, and I brought it with me to a short vacation in a beautiful island. Early in a morning, I had a long swim on the deserted beach, then lied down under the shade of almond trees, reading the book, pondering my life, then swimming again. In front of me, on the other side of the sea, Hongkong city resting quietly, glittering in the morning sun rays shining through grey clouds. What a wonderful moment [...]

    20. My friend told me to read this book about a year ago but I was never really interested in reading. I never found the right book to read. This summer I read a book for Paulo Coelho and I loved it. So I kept buying his books and reading them. His books are really different. They are all about life and how we choose our path. Some are all about love, destiny, and death. After I read most of his books I decided to start reading this book ''Like the Flowing River''. It made a great impact on the way [...]

    21. "He is trying to serve God just as I am. We merely follow different laws. It's a shame that people see only the differences that separate them. If you were to look with more love, you would mainly see what we have in common, then half the world's problems would be solved." Like the Flowing River is a remarkable book worthy of praise. Paulo Coelho compiled in this book some of his spiritual and human experiences that should be read by all of us. His thoughts and reflections in this book reiterate [...]

    22. Inspirational, reflective, & meditative. What a treasure of reflections! I thoroughly enjoyed this book & am happy it was selected for discussion for our book club's Read & Hike event. It's perfect for the occasion.

    23. In this book Paulo Coelho describes his experiences of life and tries to give inspiration to readers. It looks like Gulistan of Paulo Coelho to be exact. I found nothing extraordinary in it except some of his stories. One of his stories is as follows:“A boy was watching his grandmother write a letter. At one point he asked:‘Are you writing a story about what we’ve done? Is it a story about me?’His grandmother stopped writing her letter and said to her grandson:I am writing about you, actu [...]

    24. I had read The Alchemist and Brida by Paulo Coelho before and had loved them both. Those books left me with messages that changed my life. Given my previous experiences with Coelho's books, I was pretty excited about Like a Flowing River too, until I read a few reviews (mostly negative) of the book. I nevertheless did not put the book away and I am glad I didn't.Yes, there are a few thoughts in the book that give you a blah feeling, however the book has some hidden gems of inspiration that make [...]

    25. This is a great book of meditations large and small in the form of stories and true vignettes from the life of the author. I recommend keeping it on your nightstand and reading just one or two stories before you go to bed--you'll sleep well. If you are familiar with Coelho's works, you'll recognize the "warrior of the light" and the reference to "personal legends" (see The Alchemist). The collection is a testament to Coelho's expansive horizon (see The Valkyries: An Encounter with Angels) and wi [...]

    28. I have witnessed many storms in my life. Most storms have taken me by surprise, and so I've had to learn - and very quickly too - to look farther off, to understand that I cannot control the weather, to practise the art of patience, and to respect nature's fury. Things do not always happen the way I would have wanted, and it is best that I get used to that.

    29. Never read this book once, It's something you have to be with always.Truly speaking a marvelous book. There are few chapters through which you can completely implement them in your own life. The chapters on pages 10, 59, 102, 110, 118, 128, 132, 149, 157, 181, 185, 196, 217, 226.Dear readers, read the above pages compulsorily . Never miss the content on page 102.

    30. I did not like this book not only because it's naive and focuses too much on the little things but also because I was shocked by how empty and yet braggy the life of a best-selling author is. I just wasted 4 hours of my life reading (and skipping) useless crap while I might have just skipped to the end; Some Final Prayers; merely because it's the only page that's worth reading.
