    1. Good and entertaining, but it could have been freaking awesome.I'm actually a bit disappointed because there was so much potential here. Dark and scary and kicking assery awesome. Unfortunately, it falls into some well-trodden tropes that a 'mean' editor or beta reader should have red-lined. I mean really, evil secret government military experiments? This is a romance. Terrific, but for all that is holy! stop with the repetitive, 'oh, he's hawt', 'oh, he's so sexy, what a fine ass', 'wow, what an [...]

    2. A book that includes zombies, lycans and vampires all together. Military experiments not ethical that went wrong. Lots of action, violence, dark scenes. The scene where soldiers are transformed into zombies made my stomach ache. And the most interesting fact about this book is that although it is so dark and violent, it is actually a paranormal romance.

    3. This book is a very interesting turn on the myths we think we know. Mix genetic altering with Werewolves, Vampires and Zombies. Throw in some romance and the evil government, bang you have an intriguing new series!Smutty fans of Mina Carter may be a touch disappointed, there isn't a lot of smexy steam here. This is more geared towards the Urban Fantasy crowd. Loads of story, building characters and fleshing out a fairly detailed plot. I enjoyed all the intrigue and suspense.Never fear, there is [...]

    6. Lycanthropes, Vampires, and Zombies. Oh My!I wasn’t sure what to expect when I picked up this book as I’ve never read anything written by Mina Carter (“Carter”). After reading “Perfect Mate,” and thoroughly enjoying it, I can tell you that she’s got a new fan. Unlike the familiar themes associated with paranormal novels, Carter pulls in paranormal elements (lycans, vampires, and zombies), creating something a little off the beaten path. In doing so, she successfully keeps the reade [...]

    7. When a wounded soldier arrives needing emergency care at Lillian Rosewoods psychiatric hospital, she tries to defer it to a hospital but gets thwarted instead trying to assist with the patient. After being shut out, her curiosity to see if the man survived ends up with being attacked by a doctor and finding out that the injured man is quite different from anyone she has ever met.Captain Jack Harper enlisted, but he didn't realize he would be one of many who would be experimented on and kept subd [...]

    8. There are two stories in this really, really short read. I say short because I think each "story line" should have had its own, but the author put them together because neither story was long enough for the publisher, in my opinion. The main story line? Pretty much cookie cutter style with the male and female coming together, falling in instant love, etc Vanilla sex scenes were okay. The second story line should have been the main one, for me. Still have the cookie cutter style with the male and f [...]

    9. Zombies. Never thought I'd willingly read a book with them in it. Not usually my thing. However, I. Loved. This. Book! This is my first from this author, and it won't be the last. The plot was pretty non stop and the writing was great! I really liked the new take she took on the werewolf/vampire and ZOMBIES! theme. Hello! it was great. I kinda wish there had been more sexin in it though. And there better be a second because I will be very sad if there's not! Ms. Carter has a new fan in this girl [...]

    10. ~3.5 stars~This was a creative paranormal/cyborg read. I think it has a lot of.potential as an overall series. Paranormal beings galore. I'm likely to check out the next book in this series.

    11. 2.5 starsThe plot to this story sounded great, the reviews are pretty good and I didn't check out the reviews like I should have, because even with those two things combined this book had serious flaws. Now mind you, I did finish this book and in the end it was worth it and I may even read the next one to see if the author has learned from her mistakes. I actually blame the beta readers for not bringing these things to the authors attention.------------------------------->SPOILERISH --------- [...]

    12. Ok, starting off…Prior to starting this, I didn’t know it was book one of a new series. All I knew was that it had paranormal elements, the hero sounded hot and there would be an instant connection between Lillian and Jack. This book starts off great. You are immediately dropped into the action with Jack being brought into the hospital…and there’s an instant attraction for Lillian to Jack. But after getting Lillian & Jack’s POVs, you get another person’s POV…Toni. Initially, I [...]

    13. Wow. Truthfully, shapeshifters have never been my favourite read no matter how popular and hot they are written but Mina Carter made this right. Lillian was a very entertaining and funny heroine. It was truly a pleasure reading about her. She made the gruesome scenes with the reanimates or zombies looked so funny. Determined to fight and be strong even though she was quaking and shaking like a leaf.Jack was an interesting character. He volunteered for the military/government experiment without k [...]

    14. Really interestingunlike traditional paranormal books, here the werewolves, vampires and zombies are created by an evil government agency known only as the Project. Regular soldiers are taken against their will and infected with experimental viruses. The transformation is gruesome and permanent. The werewolves now also have the ability to turn or infect others by biting or scratching.Lillian is a psychiatric hospital manager and she meets Jack when they bring him in to treat his injuries. There [...]

    15. Hmmm. Typical "me genetically enhanced warrior oppressed solder werewolf" you "hot strangely knowledgable nurse human" story. What concerns me at first was that I thought I had read it before, until I realized that the plot of Primal Law is very similar. So, if you like that book, you will like this one.

    16. What you'll find: werewolves, vampires, and zombies. Practically the holy trinity of paranormal romance these days, but one must admit it's a potent combination when crafted by the hands of a skilled writer.Mina Carter, for instance, is a shining star that helps guide paranormal beings out of the treacherous void of melodrama, poet shirts, and misplaced sparkles. She brings things firmly into the here and now with this book about military experiments gone wrong, wisecracking werewolves toting as [...]

    17. Originally reviewed on The Book VixenGreat world building, great characters and wonderful romance. Two pesky things made me knock a half frog off but still well worth the read. What I Liked: Jack and Lilly were excellent characters and their romance just delicious. Lilly would have every right to freak out at what happens but she maintains a wicked sense of humor and strength of character that I just loved. For instance, when faced with a zombie attack she yells, “these are new pants, asshole. [...]

    19. What did I think? well even if the name of the book was promising something kind of ovious that did not happen but what it did give me was a lot of action in the adrenaline way kiscking ass action again we discover some pretty nasty experimentes done by the goverment and the army, but the results here are : werewolves, vampires and zombies, yeah !! here we they don´t appear in the magical and misterious way, rather they are created by some experiments of weird and crazy scientist. here we have [...]

    20. This is a great action romance with werewolves and vampires. It comes before the SARA series, but they are connected. I love the military aspect. Our guys are great soldiers, but they got experimented on my a secret military project that made them vampires. The secret project also created vampires and zombies. The zombies are gross, but there is a secondary plot related to the zombies that is wonderful and moving. Because it is military and scientific, they don't use the mythological names of th [...]

    21. This review was originally posted on my Alaskan Bookie website at: alaskanbookie/review/perfeLillian Rosewood doesn’t know what she is getting herself into by trying to help the wounded solider, Captain Jack Harper, who has been brought into her facility. Although the part of the facility that holds the solider is an off-limits military wing, that doesn’t stop her from trying to find out if he is alright. Lillian doesn’t know that Captain Harper has decided that she is his mate and he want [...]

    22. The animal inside Jack makes him sexy as hell, "Jack half-started toward her, reaching out to grasp her arm in an iron grip he tried to be gentle. Touching any man, even a dying one, was a bad thing. The creature inside him wouldn't tolerate his woman touching another." And the possession that boy has woo-baby hot, hot, hot, "no." Jack's voice was a sharp and scolding as if he were speaking to a misbehaving puppy. "Mine." And well some men on his team can't handle the endowments: "For eff's sake [...]

    23. For parts of this book I felt there was a little much going on and felt like I was outside of my comfort zone as far as my usual books went but then as I got more into it and stopped trying to make everything fit into a neat little package I found I quite liked a few of the characters. The story line was maybe a little thin in places and the ending was annoying as hell but I still found myself jumping on amazon to see when the next one would be out.For a short read the book held my attention and [...]

    24. It was just awful! The moment I realized the book was finished and I would have to wait for the next in the series to be written I wanted to throw myself on the floor kicking and screaming. The way Mina Carter used words to share this story was amazing. I didn't just read it, I felt as if I were a part of it. When Nia discovered the coffin shaped cage. The first time Darce scents his mate, the perfect one just for him. Especially the way Lilly and Jack become a couple. I still don't like Zombies [...]

    25. I enjoyed reading this novel. It took a bit for me to get into it, but once I got a 1/3 into the book or so, it was a page turner. I did think that the novel had an abrupt ending to Lillian and Jake's situation. I feel as if the next novel might be about another member of the pack and his/her mate (honestly, I have no idea). I'm not saying that I wouldn't want to read about that, but I think there needs to be a continuation to Lillian and Jake's story. I mean, how does Jake deal with his decisio [...]

    26. So this was an good read. But I had problems with it. The first problem was a huge chunk of this story was given to a secondary character who did not even tie in to the orginal one till toward the end. I found reading her parts frustrating and soon got to where I was skimming those parts thus making this story shorter in doing so but it was so irritating to be constantly taken from the main story line. Though I do understand her story was simply being set up for the next book but still it took a [...]

    27. I wanted to love this book but it left me wanting. There was a ton of action but little in the build up between Jack and Lillian. Usually I'm all about instant mating in a shifter book but they usually build up emotions and you don't really see that in this book and that makes me a sad panda. Overall it was a great read with a ton of action and some suspense. A very original plot amongst scifi/ub genre. I will more than likely pick up the next book in hopes of feeling the love connection more.

    28. Shifters, Vamps and Zombies *shudders* and action, lots of it. Lillian is working at a psychiatric hospital, where the military has taken possession of a wing for their more unstable cases. Now a trauma victim is wheeled in, blood all over the place, but the military won´t let her take a look or help. When she sneeks in to help anyway, she encounters Jack, and now he´s healed. As he is there to rescue his fellow soldiers, the government has rallied a troop to take them all out.Fast paced, alph [...]
