    1. The first entry into The Survival Race series by K.M. Fawcett had me completely "captivated." Seriously. I was in the middle of Chapter 21 when the first slice of humor and a clever little introduction (the heroine introduces herself as Addy before the hero can introduce her as Hell Woman) stopped me in my tracks and I took a breath. Addy's plight, captured from Earth during a forest fire accident, pulls you to a faraway world where humans are utilized as pets to be companions, breeders and figh [...]

    2. I’ll say upfront my biggest frustration with this book is how the romance develops but otherwise it’s a fun ride. The hero and heroine are both human and have been kidnapped to an alien planet which is unique. Let me set it upAddy Dawson is a park ranger and while trying to get some visitors to safety when they come too close to a forest fire, she ends up being abducted by aliens. When she comes back to consciousness, she doesn’t know she is on an alien planet a million miles away from Ear [...]

    3. BEAM ME UP SCOTTYAddy Dawson is a forest ranger, she loves her job even when it's dangerous. Like now as there's a forest fire. While trying to rescue some people she falls into the rapids and hits her head. When she comes around she's in a room that doesn't appear to have any windows or door. What's worse she's naked and so is the large muscular man next to her. Terrified and angry Addy tries to escape, demanding that this man let her go. When he explains he's as much a prisoner as she is. Addy [...]

    4. I READ IT WITHIN A DAY!!!! GOD I LOVED THIS BOOK SOOOO MUCH!!! SO INTERESTING AND DIFFERENT THAN ANYTHING I'VE EVER READ BEFORE. I REALLY HOPE FAWCETT CONTINUES WITH THE SERIES!!!!!!!!OK so first of all what real surprised me the most was the villain, Regan. While most authors are afraid to really create a villain that is completely evil, K.M. Fawcett is not. Sometimes, (especially for me) villains need to be someone who just love to hate. Throughout reading the book I kept hoping that Regan wou [...]

    5. I read historical, paranormal, some contemporary, but all are romance. I do not read anything remotely science fiction…until now! I started reading this book with great trepidation, but with a somewhat open mind. It contained aliens, spaceships, gladiators, abduction, and because it did have some romance too, I thought I could muddle through. I picked up this book and believe it or not, I couldn’t put it down!It began in a forest fire in California with Addy Dawson desperately trying to get [...]

    6. So I don't write reviews very often but this book deserves a review!!!! I found this while looking for a new book I wanted something different but still a romance. I am not a big fan of SF Books but soon as I started reading this one I couldn't put it down. The world and creatures inside this book are so creative and the people in it are very normal. It's got a bit of everything in it which I love not just one but you get the whole package. I def loved this book and can't wait for the next.

    7. WOW! This book took me on a totally unexpected journey. Great addition to the sci-fi romance genre, I can't wait to read more from this author. Although I will prepare myself next time as I was freaking exhausted trekking along with Max and Addy on their journey/escape. Stand alone - HEA - Book 1 in The Survival Race seriesEnds at 94% on my Kindle

    8. In Captive, Addy is introduced into the story as a forest ranger who is trying to escape a forest fire with a few teenagers. Suddenly, however, she is attacked and blacks out. When she wakes up, she finds herself on an alien planet where she is essentially a broodmare and sex slave to the studs, males who are also captives. They are forced to impregnate the broodmares, and then the babies would be taken away and sold.Addy first wakes up on this new planet in a box with a naked man, Max, who is e [...]

    9. Book Review- Captive by K.M. FawcettThis is an interesting sci-fi story. Addy is evacuating people from a forest fire when she gets out to check something, they steal her expedition. She is stranded out in the forest with a wildfire bearing down on her. She runs and jumps in the river, fighting the rapids to save her life. Just as she gets slammed against a rock and is losing consciousness, she reaches out to someone to pull her out.She wakes up in a strange room with a strange naked man. She is [...]

    10. Review originally posted at Ramblings From This ChickAn epic beginning to a wonderful new paranormal romance series. From the very first page this story grabbed my attention as our lead female character raced to save innocent people from a raging forest fire. Right in the midst of chaos she was ripped away from everything she’d ever known and forced into a world determined to break her spirit, and own her soul.Addy Dawson awakes after nearly drowning while trying to escape a forest fire to fin [...]

    11. Okay, so I'm going to be completely honest. I read the words 'mate' and 'breed' and thought I was in for a bit of a sci-fi smut-fest. But let me tell you, I couldn't have been more wrong! Captive is a story filled with action, adventure, pain (physical and emotional), and a wonderful romance that blooms slowly through the book.Addy wakes up in a strange world where humans are no more than pets. And just like human pet owners, you have the good ones and the bad ones. While some are treated well o [...]

    12. I'm not a big fan of sci-fi, aliens, and the like, but something about this book's blurb appealed to me. Well, I'm glad I took a chance and read it. CAPTIVE was an exciting (and a touch unsettling) fantasy adventure and unconventional love story in one.Twenty-three year old Earth girl Addy is abducted by aliens and taken to their planet called Hyborea. To her shock and horror, she wakes up in a small cell with a naked stranger. The man, named Max, enlightens her about what's going on.Humans are [...]

    13. So I have to be completely honest about this one. I have read a few paranormal romance books (mostly with vampires or mind reading or dream walking) but I have never even come close to touching a Sci-Fi book. This was not something that would have ever have interested me. But as I have quickly learned, living outside of my norm is sometimes fun too. I know this is not something you would typically see me review and that is part of the reason I was so intrigued by it. With that being said, yes, t [...]

    14. Officer Addy Dawson is out in the forest rescuing some teenage boys. They did not heed the warnings about the wildfires. As Addy is driving away with the boys, she sees a guy wounded running away. She gets out of the car and walks in the direction that she saw the guy. The next thing Addy knows she hears the car driving off. She is stranded. The wildfire is fast approaching. Addy almost loses her life when she sees some bright lights. Addy awakes to find herself in bed naked. To make matters wor [...]

    15. The last thing Addy Dawson remembers is a trying to escape a forest fire and failing, but when she wakes up she is in a square room with no doors and windows. Naked. But she isn't alone, there is also a naked man, Max, in with her, who has one thing on his mine.ding. As Addy comes to understand the strange and cruel new world she is being kept prisoner in the more she needs to escape, together her and Max must find away out of their captivity and survive. When I first started reading this, I was [...]

    17. OMG! What a dang good story this was! I fell in love at page one and was held breathless until the end! I hung on every word and was so upset for the story to end but alas what is a good story without a beginning, a middle, and an ending?Of course I loved Maxwho could not have loved Max but without Addy and her strong kick butt will to survive attitude I am not sure Max would have made it much longer continuing on as he was having to. He had all but done lost his will to keep going. He had succu [...]

    18. The star rating is really more like 3.8. It can't be a full 4 because my romance needs weren't totally satisfied. Why? Max and Addy spent half the book apart. That's not what I want in a romance. The point of a romance, to me, is to watch them fall in love. That doesn't happen when the characters aren't together. I also never felt any real chemistry between them, or felt like I was reading a really great romance. As a character study, it was amazing. But the romance aspects were lacking. There, b [...]

    19. 2 1/2, Generally well written (better basic writing skills than a lot of the scifi/futuristic romances I've read) but something about this one kinda turned me off the story, though I can't put my finger on what. Never really connected with the characters. Still willing to try other stuff by Fawcett though. I think the whole premise with the aliens was just not quite believable enough. Or maybe we just didn't get enough info to explain things. I couldn't get it to work in my head and it kept knoc [...]

    20. I don't usually write reviews, so I am not very good at it but this one deserved some praise. It was surprisingly good. I went into it not expecting much, some fluff and a lot of steamy scenes, but it actually had a really exciting plot and was a fun read!

    21. Just as good the second read. I would have liked to read more about Abby and Max, I wish the sequel was about them.

    22. This was an interesting concept. I enjoyed the book overall I just wished there was a little more ‎‎"steam" between the two main characters.‎

    23. A highly entertaining read with some twists and surprises I didn't see coming. Not at all the usual "alien captive" story, this novel turned out to be a very different read from what I was expecting. It carried some interesting tie-ins to ancient myths and legends, and presented a scenario that was disconcerting--and sometimes heartbreaking--for the characters. The relationship was a very slow build, which makes total sense in the circumstances the main characters found themselves. Trust would no [...]

    24. Captive is a sci-fi adventure romance depicted in a form of a reverse metaphor to Jack London’s Call of the Wild. The protagonist, Addy, is transported to a frozen world where humans are fulfilling the roles of ‘dogs’ to their furry owners. There Addy must embark on a journey to freedom while attempting to reawaken the humanity within the soul of an alpha gladiator. Their encounter is a journey from cold, and brute animalistic mating instinct to a human relationship defined by deep emotion [...]

    25. This is not the type of book I usually read but it was recommended to me by a friend, and I am so happy I took her advice! The author really makes you root for the hero (love Max!!) And makes you despise the villain! The romance builds at a good pace throughout the story. I love the strength that Addy shows and she is very believable in her discovery of the new world she finds herself in. I'm very much looking forward to book two!!

    26. This book was so bloody wired in a good 5stars way it had flying spaceships by telepathic big foots who keep humans as immortal breeding pets it's so good but also a lot of imagination going on by this author for this book I will be buying the next book x
