    2. I found Some Rise by Sin by Courtney J. Hall's premise intriguing and it appealed to my historical romance's preferences. This was the first thing I've read by Hall and I have to say, I was completely entranced. The historical accuracy was spot-on, the romance sweeping and the religious suspense an added surprise. If you love all things historical, pick this up.My Rating: 4.5 stars

    3. AI found Courtney J. Hall’s debut novel, Some Rise by Sin, highly entertaining. This historical romance takes place in 1558, during the dramatic end to Catholic Mary Tudor’s reign, the rise to the throne of her half-sister Elizabeth, and the ensuing turmoil this causes across the country. The new Earl of Easton, Cade Badgley, is unhappily forced to take responsibility for his father’s rundown estate in dire financial troubles, and jumps at the chance to return to Mary Tudor’s court to ac [...]

The re [...]

But for the survivors of the first two shifts, the approaching death of Mary Tudor in 1558 created great anxiety. No one knew, then, that Elizabeth would choose a path of compromise and (relative) tolerance. And Mary's public burnings of Protestants gave [...]
