    1. Is a really great book, a little slow, but enjoyable no less. I love all the reference to my culture and it was really refreshing to see a non-Mexican Latino appearance in a book, that was pretty awesome. Overall it was a good book, definitely an awesome starter to an new series, I hope many people read it because is not a waste of time like many other books are.

    2. Night of Essences of Phoenix and Serpentis the story of Vanora Candela. She's a puertorican college profesor, and she sees visions of the creation of mankind. This leads to a journey beyond her wildest imagination, and leads her to write everything down in a journal. This book connects the lives of various characters and various futures. Set in different locations, such as Puerto Rico, France, and New York, we see Vanora explore the world, both through her eyes and her visions. The story started [...]

    3. I acquired this short novel shortly after the author asked me to review it from amazon while it was free of charge for a day or so. This story follows the lives of many different people with different backgrounds, lives and problems. One thing unites them all, destiny. The book revolves mainly around the life of Vanora Candela a young Puerto Rican woman on the journey of finding herself. This story takes place in mostly in the beautiful island of Puerto Rico, although that is not the only place [...]

    4. This was a hard read for me. I don't read much science fiction, but when I was approached to read and review this title I was attracted to the peculiarity of the story and the characters as per the blurb.I was wholly disappointed.First and foremost, the story started slow. Too slow to keep me engaged, which I was disappointed in. The problem was that Venora had a tendency to ramble, which she did A LOT. I don't have a problem with descriptions or facts, actually, I welcome and enjoy them when th [...]

    5. Nonutopians is the first book of a series by Indie author Jennifer Jimenez. This first book is called Night of Essences of Phoenix and Serpent, starts with Vanora an engineer professor in a college in Puerto Rico. Vanora is presented in the book as a bohemian woman; she is a poet, a dancer, a writer and she starts having some visions of the past. When the visions starts she decides to write a book to tell the world of her experiences. This visions show her the beauty of the earth and how the rel [...]

    6. I rarely find a good science-fiction book for my taste. I had the pleasure of meeting the author of this book, "Jennifer Jimenez", and she was a great person. It was interesting at first, because we immediately started talking about literature and obviously the topic of her first book had to be touched. This is how I had the opportunity of learning of the existence of such a great book.As a Puerto Rican English teacher, poet, essayist, and story writer, I try to get my students to read catching [...]

    7. eBook copy provided by author via promotion Rating: 1 star Night of Essences of Phoenix and Serpentis the first book in the four book series -- by what I saw in an interview -- called Nonutopians. Vanora Candela is an electrical engineer and professor. For some reason, she gets to witness how mankind was created, how it has changed to bad. Deciding she has to let people know of her vision to help put things how they're supposed to be, to reconnect people with the world, she writes a book of all [...]

    8. I must admit that I am not used to reading this genre. I am usually an epic fantasy, adventure, romance type of person and I rarely touch the sci-fi genre. However, that doesn't mean that I don't pick a sci-fi story here and now. So I did.Nonutopians is s very interesting read. Of course it has a few flaws that are perfectly understandable for a first published. It described A LOT. Don't get me wrong, I love descriptions, but sometimes I like to keep going in the story. The good part of this is [...]

    9. I didn't understood the book. Most of the time I was lost with the changes in scenes and characters. Although I liked very much the descriptions to Puerto Rico and the love shown.I wish to the author, success with this book and other endeavors.
