    1. Some of the most action and philosophy packed novels in Peters' endearing work, spanning the Welsh border and an astonishing cross-section of humanity within these novels. The mysteries are exceptionally well-crafted, I wasn't able to pin down the culprit even with several previous experiences of this author's style.The Heretic's Apprentice: A fascinating view into church theology in the 12th century, emphasising the lack of creativity in interpretation of the faith and uplifting for showing all [...]

    2. I really love the Cadfael adaptations they did in TV, with Derek Jacobi in the main role, but I couldn't get into the books at all. It's usually the other way round!! The first book, 'The Heretics Apprentice', was just so slow and ponderous, none of the spark and wit that seemed so essential in the TV programme. I got halfway through 'The Potter's Field', but remembered who did it from the show, so didn't read any further. I'm afraid I didn't even start 'The Summer of the Danes'.

    3. Very good omnibus. The final book, The Summer of the Danes being the best of the three. Highly Recommended!
