    1. This story was a little different from the usual Amish stories I read. There was Adam and Joshua that Stella found herself being a tad bit interested in. By her mother being English prior to converting, there was a bit more wiggle room for Stella since she hadn't been baptized. This is the first installment of her journeyAlthough the story moved along at a nice pace and flowed, I felt cheated. The story just ended. I thought maybe I missed something and went back and read the ending again. I am [...]

    2. HANDSPUN HEARTS is part one of a serial story that self-published writers are doing to make more money. At virtually $3.00 a story by the time they write the 30 parts of the book they’re getting $30.00 for it. A rip-off. Not only that, but this part 1 of the serial is poorly written with typos, point of view glitches, and way too much back story. Plus she slams other Amish authors. Does Ms. Bauer think she’s the only one who writes it correctly? The parts about how wool is dyed is interestin [...]

    3. It should have been made clear that you need to read the next one to find out how this one ends. Although it says book 1 the title doesn't say anything about having to continue reading to see how Abbie's story goes. It was a typical feel good clean Amish story. The heroine is trying to make a decision as to whether or not she will continue in the Plain life or look to the English world. It does say series, but most are stand alone books. This is more of a serial. Grr.

    4. Another series book which I never like. Except I did like this one. I would recommend getting all the books though rather than one at a time. The only problem (other than the series aspect) is this young Amish girl has so much more freedom than most we read about. She is not dissatisfied with her life so it's a bit hard to accept her English-desire of possibly leaving her family.
