    1. I give the book, Enough: Our Fight to Keep America Safe from Gun Violence, by Mark Kelly and Gabrielle Giffords, 5 stars because of its importance in the fight against gun violence in the U.S. Because they are gun owners and 2nd amendment supporters, Giffords and Kelly are in a unique position to present a rational non-political argument for tightening our laws to keep weapons out of the hands of criminals and the mentally unstable. When I contributed to their PAC, Americans For Responsible Solu [...]

    2. Enough: Our Fight to Keep America Safe from Gun Violence by Gabrielle Giffords and Mark Kelly“Enough: Our Fight to Keep America Safe from Gun Violence” is the inspired plea by former congresswoman Gabby Giffords and her husband retired astronaut and US Navy Captain Mark Kelly to keep guns out of the hands of criminals and the mentally ill. This admirable couple share Gabby’s recovery and their insightful quest to reduce gun violence in America. This moving 256-page book includes the follow [...]

    3. I gave this book five stars because I think it is a book everyone should read. I admit that I was a bit shocked when I read that both Gabby Giffords and her husband Mark Kelly are gun owners. I grew up in a family that was anti-gun and that has always been my stance. We have never had a gun in our home and we didn't allow our son to have toy guns (he didn't suffer from that, in fact he is a fine upstanding young man, a wonderful son, a wonderful husband, and a wonderful father). When I picked up [...]

    4. Enough. Enough is enough. No more violence. My husband's family lives in Tucson. That was their grocery store. Still is. They knew most of the people shot that day. I have a friend who lives in Newtown and another who lives in Aurora. Enough. However, given the strength of the NRA, which this book clearly documents, the path will not be easy. Gabby and her husband Mark sprung into action while still in recovery mode when they were moved by Newtown. The book documents their personal pain, progres [...]

    5. If you had any doubts before on whether or not there's needs to be stricter gun enforcement in our country, then read this book. I have always been a supporter of the second amendment and still am, but frankly, I'm shocked that even today there are not stricter laws on gun regulation. Had there been more background checks and preventative measures in place, then maybe all those who died at Sandy Hook, Tuscan, and Columbine would still be alive today. Mark Kelly and Gabby Giffords walk the reader [...]

    6. This is a book sure to cause controversy. After Gabrielle Giffords' recovery from senseless gun violence, she and her husband, both gun owners, began looking for ways to promote responsible gun ownership. One of the main culprits they found is the NRA, which began as a way to promote gun safety, but has become a strong voice in promoting unchecked gun ownership. As a reader who supports their point of view, of course I agree with them. But there’s really nothing new, their book provides us wit [...]

    7. Using rational logic and polite, moderate argument against the NRA works about as well as it would against a feral, cornered tiger. Which is why I'm not sure the point of this book, despite the good intentions of the author (not authors; Kelly is the only author here) and his wife's tragic story. Everyone but the tinfoil hats have already been convinced, and the hats never will be.

    8. This is a very good memoir from Gabby Gifford and her husband Mark Kelly. It tells their story about trying to do something abut gun violence in our country.

    9. Informative read on how the NRA influences the gun laws and why it takes so long to get anything done. Also a platform for their organization: Americans for Responsible Solutions.

    10. I love the idea of Americans for Responsible Solutions! It would be so nice to get off of this damn pendulum that swings far to the left and then far to the right.

    11. Outstanding book and storyThe Shooting of Gabrielle Gifford and her aftermath to keep America safe from Guns. The NRA history and politics was added bonus!A miss read!!

    12. Preaches to the choir After the death of a news anchor and a cameraman on live TV from a troubled former co-worker, I knew it was time to pick up this book and read. I've had it for awhile, and every once in a while a story about a death related to a gun reminds me I still have this book. Gabrielle Giffords was a Congresswoman representing a part of Arizona when she held a constituent meeting at a local Safeway. She, some of her staff and bystanders were shot. Giffords would survive (albeit wit [...]

    13. Gabby Giffords and Mark Kelly are two of my heroes. Their personal stories and their public service are inspiring. In this book, they talk about Giffords' near-death in an assassination attempt redirected their careers toward fighting the epidemic of gun violence in America. The main reason I couldn't give this book more than three stars is that it needed better editing. There's a lot of seemingly unintentional repetition; the timeline jumps around a lot, oddly avoiding telling the story of Gabb [...]

    14. This was a well written book, and I full heatedly support Giffords' and Kelly's movement for a moderate response to gun violence. I hope that this book will help encourage debate on the fanaticism that has control over a fringe number of Americans with guns. However, I fear the book is ultimately preaching to the choir. There isn't strong enough evidence presented to convince a gun fanatic (though I doubt a fanatic would even pick up this book, nor is it even possible to change the opinions of ra [...]

    15. If there was an option to give this book two and a half stars I would do so. The reason why I didn't award it more stars is not so much for the content, but the way that it was presented. This couple obviously has a very emotional and hard-hitting story to tell. However, the book is extremely repetitive. They very much want to let people know that they are firm believers in the second amendment and even own and shoot guns themselves. At the same time, they believe the NRA has strayed from its or [...]

    16. This was an excellent book written by Gabrielle Giffords and Mark Kelly. She is a former senator and he flew in the military and was an astronaut. After her shooting by a mentally unstable person she became an advocate for better gun control. She believes as I do we have the right to bear arms and use guns for hunting. After she was out of Congress her and Mark started a foundation to make better more commonsense rules. Of course they Ran ran up against the NRA (who runs Congress) and their bill [...]

    17. No matter where you stand on the gun issue, this book offers a non-hyperbolic view regarding the hidden politics of this volatile issue. Former Congresswoman Gabby Giffords and her husband, astronaut Mark Kelly are gun owners and supporters of the second amendment. They outline their commitment for better background checks, closing loopholes and sensible, common sense legislation to attempt to curb the increase in gun violence. Mark Kelly is a hunter and they do not suggest taking hunting rights [...]

    18. An incredibly sobering look at the state of gun violence in America and the increasing movement to pass commonsense gun legislation. It includes a brief history of the NRA, of which I was largely ignorant previously, but which I must admit reminds me a lot of North Korea -- ruling by fear and scare tactics, using extreme language, rewards for the faithful and crippling punishments for those who step out of line. A call to action to get out from under the NRA-controlled politics and literally to [...]

    19. A compelling read. I cried when I read this book. It's not the most eloquent book I've ever read, but it was powerful and meaningful in it's message. They talk facts and the people that those facts effect while giving you as clear a picture as possible of the reality of living with a serious bullet injury. I would recommend it to any American. Vote in your elections, people. Talk to your representation. Gun violence is an issue we can all learn more about. I promise you will appreciate her persp [...]

    20. I really liked it although it was hard to read about the way the NRA is stopping all reasonable debate about our gun culture. Mark and Gabi are gun owners and try to present their arguments to Congress but even when they see one of their own who is so physically changed by gun violence many don't vote for peaceful means. It was so sad to read again of the children who died because America is in love with guns. Mark and Gabi will keep on in their crusade and we can help them.

    21. I liked this book because it not only laid out a sensible plan for limitations on guns, but it also explained the evolution of the NRA and explained how they are representing fewer and fewer gun owners. I also liked to read how Giffords and Kelly lived before the attack and how it has affected them since.

    22. Clearly well researched in terms of the history of the NRA and how extreme the group has become in its paranoia and fear. I was moved to tears with Mark's objective reporting on Gabby's struggles. And I am not a cryer. It takes a lot to move me to tears.Important unemotional factual.Makes me believe that the NRA should be classified as a terrorist group.

    23. This was a powerful book. It was both heart breaking and fascinating to get play-by-plays of the last several major mass shootings in our country. However it was extremely heartening to hear how the Giffords took their pain (from her life-altering shooting) and turned it into something incredible (their lobbying group, "Americans for responsible solutions.") I would highly recommend it :-)

    24. Very well-written. A very balanced view on the issues of gun violence, gun control measures, and mental health issues from Mark Kelly and Gabby Giffords, who not only have been affected personally by gun violence, but are gun owners themselves--which gives them a rather unique perspective. The book also goes over the history of the NRA, which was interesting (and a bit disturbing).

    25. Powerful and well-written. I admire Gabby Giffords and Mark Kelly even more now!Oh and as an asidecely done, media who incorrectly reported that Gabby was dead after the shooting. Her husband heard those reports and didn't know if they were true or not.

    26. I was glad I read this book -- it was interesting but the editing was very sloppy and several things were repeated, which took away from the pace of the book. It gave interesting details about their organization, the NRA, and ideas for the future.

    27. A sensible look at responsible gun ownership and the powerful NRA that controls so much of what happens in the wake of terrible shootings. This was a wake up to the need to do something responsible while supporting the 2nd amendment and not just rhetoric that feeds fear.
