    1. 4.3/5 stars*ebook provided from the author in exchange for an honest review (I only recently realized I had received this and oh my!) All the bad feelings suddenly swirl into a giant mass. Time slows, the clock ticks, deafening. But the earth moves. Trembles. Splits beneath my feet. I spin round and round. Until it becomes crystal clearWhen Mary opened her eyes, she was standing between the spectators in a weird field, watching a game she had never known before. She looked hesitant, but also wit [...]

    2. So what is Violet Storm?HmmmLet me think about it…Ouch, my brain!Ouch, my brain!!!Violet Storm is a perfectly paced adrenaline rush, not only breathless but unique. Anna Soliveres' debut novel grabs anyone brave enough to pick it up from the very first word and treats them to a twisty-turny topsy-turvy young adult dystopian sci-fi that could best be described as The Bourne Identity meets Blade Runner meets Red Queen, plus or minus certain key elements of each. That said, it really stands on it [...]

    3. I Finally finished!!!! Thank you Anna for giving me the chance to read Violet Storm and experience the journey! It was a wonderful read it took me some time but I took a little time out to read and I am very happy that I got a chance to read the book:)

    4. This started out a little odd because Aeva was struck by lightening while playing sports and then wakes up miles from home with no memory of how she got there. Then it goes onto her finding out her village has been decimated and her desire for revenge etc. I thought that the author had forgotten about explaining about the lightening, but no, it all comes together in the end and what a story it is!!! I loved Aeva. She is kick ass at her chosen sport, Fila, and is top of her game. When she wakes u [...]

    5. I received a copy of this book from the author in exchange of an honest review. Thankyou AnnaI ended up actually really enjoying this book. The story had me hooked from the first page and another thing that impressed me throughout the course of this book was how unique it was. I've read quite a lot of young adult books, but can't say that I've read one like this. The concept was really interesting and the story was easy to follow and get caught up in. And can I just say, that I really loved Aeva [...]

    6. Thank you to Xpresso Book Tours and author Anna Soliveres for allowing me to read this in exchange for an honest review!Find this review and more on my blog The Rest Is Still Unwritten!Anna Soliveres’s debut novel, Violet Storm is a rich and descriptive forward moving dystopian novel that is deeply entertaining and blends together elements of sci-fi with danger, intrigue and betrayal.Told through the eyes of Aeva Storm, a tough as nails athlete, Violet Storm is a futuristic dystopian that sees [...]

    7. Check out the book tour with a giveaway at my blog, also read an excerpt too. This book is very different than any i had read in awhile. It's a great blend of dystopian and scifi. I really enjoyed it.I like the strong character that is Aeva, she has a tough type personality. I found her a great main character. I had a hard time putting it down, that is for sure.In this book we get detailed descriptions of a world in a crisis. There are decaying woods, desperate cannibals, with unique cities and t [...]

    8. Hey All! I'm going to start this author adventure right and be the first to review my debut novel, Violet Storm. I hope it isn't ridiculous that I've done so (and that I've humbly given it five stars). My purpose is to give more context to new readers who want to learn more about why this book is worth their time. What I love most about this story is the protagonist, Aeva herself. There are few things she loves in this post-apocalyptic world: her family and Fila--a sport where her skill and tal [...]

    9. I stumbled across Anna's blog shortly before her release and was immediately captivated by the cover and sound of her novel. It was different, fascinating, and well, I knew I had to read it! And after getting my hands on it, I was even more blown away by how awesome it was! Witnessing the world in a completely different state, with some technology and "procedures" that are incredibly horrific, as well as interesting, left me sitting up to the early morning hours because I had to finish just one [...]

    10. I received a copy of this book from the author in exchange for an honest review. I loved Violet Storm and could not put it down. It is fast paced, with an original plot, great world building, adventure, and lots of twists. I would characterize this book as sci-fi dystopian YA. It takes place in the future in a troubled society on a dying planet. The heroine Aeva Storm is a really admirable character who faces complex moral choices while trying to figure what has happened to her. There is a love [...]

    11. Check out my review of Violet Storm by Anna Soliveres at Books Equal Awesomeness!I really enjoyed reading this book! The characters were all really well developed and the setting and plot were well created. I really liked the main character, Aeva! She was a kick-ass heroine and I loved her sense of humor and sarcasm. I LOVED Ruven! He was such an amazing character and he was definitely my favorite character in this book! There was plenty action to keep me tearing through the book to know what ha [...]

    12. Futuristic dystopian society with streaks of influence from some of your favorite series in the YA dystopian sub-genre as well as YA fiction in general. The writing style is attention grabbing and the story moves along quickly, making the book a rapid read. Without spoiling anything, I enjoyed the emphasis on tech in the book as compared to other future-dystopians that only glaze over it. As always when I finish a book that is part of a series and the next one isn't out yet -- I am sad.

    13. I received a copy of this book from the author in exchange of an honest review.Anna Soliveres has created an outstanding sci-fi novel with Violet Storm. I enjoyed her writing style a lot. Even though it was a bit slow paced for my liking it was exciting, had twists and turns and mysterious. She created a fabulous world, amazing characters and charm within the story that leads to an awesome series. The main character Aeva Storm is a young Fila champion from Agria. During a championship she gets st [...]

    14. 5 ++++ Action Packed…COULD NOT PUT THIS BOOK DOWN stars!Aeva Storm is a champion Fila player from Agria.  The last she remembers is she is struck by lightning while playing and wakes in a strange place.  She is told her city is destroyed and everyone perished with it.  Including her family.  She is devastated and goes to find the city to search for her family.  Along the way she meets Karth who assists her in her travels.  Despite their attraction for each other, they don’t necessarily [...]

    15. 4.5/5 starsI would like to thank the author for providing me with a complimentary copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. Doing so does not sway my review in any way.As I read this book, I couldn't help but feel a bit of satisfaction. A true YA science fiction novel that is as refreshing as it is unique. A strong female character who is basically an athletic tomboy that lacks self confidence in one area but is like a steroid overload in another. She's created in a way that many young [...]

    16. Centuries into our future, the world is a dark, bleak place. The very ground is sick, making it nigh on impossible to grow crops or raise livestock. Aeva Storm lives in Agria, a town striving to create new strains of grains and vegetables that will somehow grow in such an inhospitable environment. An incurable disease is also ravaging the world’s human survivors, and the way to treat the disease is to replace the diseased body organ with a synthetic one – if you can afford it.Aeva is a profe [...]

    17. 3.5 starsI make no secret of the fact that I love post-apocalyptic and dystopian fiction and I’ve read a lot of both genres, singly and combined. As time goes on, it becomes harder and harder to find something that’s truly fresh, more than a little different from what has come before. That freshness can be found in Violet Storm, both in concept and in Aeva. I won’t go into much detail because it would be too easy to fall into spoilers but I was especially intrigued by Ms. Soliveres’ idea [...]

    18. *I received a copy of this book from the author in exchange for an honest review*I was super excited to read this book as soon as I read the description. I love dystopians, and this one sounded unique and intriguing. I was SO not disappointed! I loved it! The premise is amazing and it was executed perfectly! It's sort of like X-Men meets The Hunger Games.Aeva Storm is an amazing main character; she's strong, intelligent, intense, emotional I loved getting inside her head! She's wonderfully compl [...]

    19. So an athletic, scarred, tomboy of a heroine and a really intriguing plot, which is what attracted me to the book in the first place. And I’m really glad that I chose this book, which is not one of my usual genres, although I do enjoy a bit of sci fi.This book is a real page turner (or, for those of us with e-readers, a real screen tapper), and a real treat to read. There were a couple of points in the book which totally blind-sided me, you know that moment when you go “OMG I wasnt expecting [...]

    20. When I began this book, I was taken with Aeva’s strong character traits. I couldn’t help admiring her strength—both physically and mentally. She’s a renowned athlete in a brutal sport, which I found atypical, yet it perfectly suits her character.Though this book seems more dystopian than sci-fi to me, I was immediately drawn into the world Ann Soliveres created, which vaguely resembled the poor districts and Capitol region in The Hunger Games. But that’s where the similarities end. With [...]

    21. I'll take more, please. This was a book I didn't rush to finish--not that I didn't want to, but I loved the story world and I wanted to stay there a while. Which is why I'm sad the next book isn't out already. I totally would have binge read the entire series given an opportunity.I loved the characters, the war-torn society, the political plotting and the dangers of this wonderful story. The characters are still chatting away in my head, and I hope it's not long before I get to read them in actio [...]

    22. Ann Soliveres is a new author to me but if this book is any indication, I really hope that there is another one soon. Violet Storm is loaded with action and is a fast paced read. There are a lot of twists and turns in the story and it kept me guessing throughout. The author paints a vivid picture of the world she lives in and I found it very easy to get into the story. If you enjoy dystopian novels, you’ll like Violet Storm by Anna Soliveres. It’s a bit on the violent side so I would definit [...]

    23. I read this book in less than 3 days, it's so good! Violet Storm is Book 1 in Soliveres' MODI Series, and Book 2 (Crimson Earth) is set to come out in a few days! The story is full of adventure and mystery, and Anna paints a very vivid picture of what our world and society as we know it COULD become. I highly recommend Violet Storm if you're interested in a Sci-Fi story that is thrilling and fantastical.

    24. I really enjoyed Violet Storm. Ms. Soliveres did a wonderful job. This book held my attention all the way through. The characters are well-developed and her descriptive style is wonderful. I look forward to the sequel.

    25. I absolutely adored this book. It's so, so smart, and so beautifully written. An edge-of-your-seat read, with characters who grip you and swirl you through the story. Can't wait for the sequel!

    26. 12/16 - no change in my earlier review - I reread this so I would have a clue when I read the second in the series. This was a gift. Someone knows the author and gave me this book to read. I waited for vacay and read it on the beach. I enjoyed it and will read the 2nd one. In the beginning I was getting tired of her fixation on her looks -but that gets explained and when it does it stops bothering me so kudos for the author. I liked 'Violet' and think she's a good YA female lead - in a sci/fy gen [...]

    27. This book transported me to a frightening future where cities are wiped out with bombs, people are modified into dangerous weapons, and violence and deception are political tools. The writing is imaginative and wonderfully descriptive. I found myself wishing there were a movie version. I'm looking forward to reading the sequel!
