    1. This book reminds me of the movie "Nightcrawler" not in a good way cause this movie was super CREEPY. The main character Henry seems like a nice guy, but there were few scenes that made me just hate him. a famous singer was shot and killed and all they (Henry and his boss) cared about is the magazine and being first at reporting the news. WHAT. THE. ACTUAL. FUCK. that's a human being, show some respect. The scene were Lemnasky gave parker a note that was left behind by the shooter was just STUPI [...]

    2. I missed the first book in this series, but I easily understood the plot nonetheless. I loved Henry Parker and I loved this story. It was fantastic. I'll definitely go back to catch up with the first one.I would have easily given this book a five rating if it had ended the way my mind had pictured the ending. Oh, Jason Pinter, why couldn't you give me my happily ever after? I'm such a hopeless romantic!Don't get me wrong, the ending does concludeokay, and I suppose some things are a must for a s [...]

    3. Excellent second novel!Incredible and darn near unputdownable! I really enjoy the characters in the series and the new ones that pop up. Lots of action and suspense. Pinter, the author, really pulls you into Henry’s world and it stays in your mind long after the novel is finished. Some may find the plot a little ‘cheesy’, and while I didn’t find it the most original, it’s how it played out that was the fascinating part. Like a reporter hitting the ground running, you’re the reader tha [...]

    4. I don't know why I decided to read another Jason Pinter novel after I disliked The Mark so much. At least some pieces of the plot in The Mark were enough for me to look past Pinter's dumbed down writing style and severe lack of editing. That was not the case, however, in The Guilty. The Guilty could have been very interesting. It was almost decent. The problem is, Pinter repeats the same phrases and sometimes paragraphs or pages worth of text over and over. I found myself just skipping or skimmi [...]

    5. The GuiltyJason PinterSuspense357 pagescopyright: 2008isbn: 0-7783-2463-xAs I lie in bed with Amanda, ignoring another late-night call from my ex, a shot rings out in the New York night and a beautiful starlet dies outside the city's most popular nightclub. This is the kind of story I was born to chase—but I never dreamed this story began over a hundred years ago.… Suddenly another life is taken, the bullet fired from one of the deadliest guns ever made. Both victims are highly controversial [...]

    6. Thought the first book of the series was better, however once I had the chance to just sit and read this book I thoroughly enjoyed it. Interesting storyline kept me involved and amused I will definitely pick up the next book in the series to see what happens with Mr. Henry Parker

    7. Kematian seorg artis terkenal yg sedang naik daun, disusul dengan percobaan pembunuhan terhdp walikota yg berakhir dengan tewasnya seorg polisi oleh seorg pembunuh misterius sgt menguncang kota tempat Herny Parker bekerja sbg jurnalis. Yg menarik dr pembunuhan misterius tsb adalah peluru yang ditemukan ditubuh korban - berupa peluru magnum 0,44-40, dimana peluru tsb digunakan pada sejenis senapan besar bernama winchester yang mempunyai kekuatan penuh yg dipakai utk berburu binatang, senjata yg h [...]

    8. From Publishers Weekly Still relatively fresh out of J-school but already a hot scribe at the New York Gazette, Henry Parker (from Pinter's The Mark) files another hair-raising story in the Big Bad Apple. This time the juicy journo's on the trail of the Boy, a sharpshooting serial killer who kills his prey using an antique Winchester 1873, the gun that won the West. The first victim is celebrity diva Athena Paradis, and the killer leaves a note quoting a piece of Henry's. Henry's research reveal [...]

    9. Hwaduh another great story by Jason Pinter Jadi gak sabar deh, pengen baca buku buku Henry Parker selanjutnya Kapan ya diterbitin ama Violet Books?Cerita di buku kedua ini tentang penembakan beruntun yang dilakukan menggunakan senapan Winchester (Do not ask me what kind of gun Winchester is) tapi, di setiap penembakan, si penembak pasti meninggalkan satu catatan yang bikin Henry Parker gerah dan bertekad buat nuntasin misteri ini.Penyelidikan berlanjut sampe ke sejarah Old Western Amerika, alias [...]

    10. 1.5 stars. Overall, I thought The Guilty was awful. It was filled with boozy, unsympathetic, cliched characters, the writing was slipshod, the mystery wasn't terribly interesting, and I absolutely hated the ending. I didn't even like Henry (the main character) by the end of this story! That said, no brains are required when reading this book. It is a "beach read." I've got two history books going right now, and this book was fine for when I wanted to read, but needed something (considerably) les [...]

    11. If you enjoyed Henry Parker in Jason Pinter's debut thriller, the Mark, you'll enjoy him in his return, the Guilty. One year later, Henry's back to report in his newest story. While things are getting hot with Amanda, things are going for a downswing for him. It all started with a singer's murder at the nightclub. More escalated deaths have grown from there. It's a race between Henry's and Paulina's papers to print the story for competition. While Paulina's has Henry watched, he's on the top of [...]

    12. Second in a series of thrillers about a young NYC reporter with an unfortunate knack for getting caught up in violence, although said protagonist thinks enough about his past that you won't need to backtrack. This time, a string of celebrity assassinations winds up harkening back to one of the most notorious figures in American history, which requires some major suspension of disbelief (but less than is expected of, say, Dan Brown readers--and it's a bit easier to swallow than the emotional over [...]

    13. Loved this book. Even better than The Mark. This novel has a historical depth to it that is very satisfying--a mystery within a mystery that takes the reader back to the days of outlaws and gunmen. It begs the reader to consider the true definition of a hero and takes us on a high-speed journey from NYC to the wild west and back again. Pinter continues to unfold his characters in endearing, and sometimes painful ways. We see both their heroism and their breaking point. I loved Henry's development [...]

    14. I randomly picked this book off the free paperback rack at the library several months ago and it has been sitting on the coffee table ever since. (One weird thing about me is I don't read books that don't have a due date.) so anyway I decided I needed to get rid of it so I started reading it, wasn't impressed after the first couple chapters so decided to quit. Then I looked here and saw it had a pretty good rating so decided to stick it out. It turned out to be a fairly decent story, but I'm not [...]

    15. This book was an awesome story. This one is the second in a series of books involving the same character, and now I am chomping at the bit to get the first one so I can get the full back story on Henry Parker. In any case, this book took a well known American Legend and turned it inside out, which I found refreshing. Not many authors would have dared to, even in fiction, mess with an American Legend lik that. A must read!

    16. I read Jason's book "The Mark" and was hooked on this new author. "The Guilty" is fast-paced, very suspenseful and extremely hard to put down. Henry is a character that you think about long after you have read the last page.

    17. A solid mystery thriller with a great story and an interesting killer with an unique hook. The only bad thing was that, without spoiling it, what happens in the end with these characters really angered me--which is probably a sign that the writer got me invested, so really it is a good thing.

    18. a clever plot, although the motivation for the finale seemed a bit weak to me. good writing style, though

    19. Benar - benar ga sabar nunggu seri berikutnya. Semoga Violetbooks ga vakum lebih lama lagi. Kangeeen, sama Amanda dan Henry :)

    20. First Jason Pinter I've read and won't be the last.Gutsy, addictive writing voice that had me turning pages.

    21. The second book in the Henry Parker series, it's even better then the first! If you want the perfect beach book for this summer, this one is it!

    22. 2nd book in Henry Parker SeriesWritten very well. Kept my interest and at times hard to put down.
