    1. A Hearts On Fire Review4.25 HEARTS--I think socially awkward or self doubting heroes are my new fave. You know the types, the one who needs more time to get out of their shell. Some might say why bother but the end results for having to work for it can be very satisfying. It is for me, anyway.A simple enough opposites attract story that became a little deeper as it progressed set in Scotland, "The Bucket List" is a story about accountant Kade Doherty. Kade has been dumped by his lover of nearly [...]

    2. Delightful shorter novel that I enjoyed very much! White hot sex, great romance and even a bit of knight-in-shining-armor. Score! Recommended!

    3. 'The Bucket List' was for me an exercise in endurance and thankfully it was short so I endured.I know I'm in the minority here when I say 'nope, sorry this one just didn't do it.' It's never a good sign when less than half way through the book I'm looking at the number of pages and sighing with relief when I realize there are less than 100 or when I have the epiphany that I'm getting through the story not because I'm enjoying it but because I'm racing to see how fast I can get to the end.I felt [...]

    4. Very nice story by a new to me author. The story unfolded slowly and was written is a captivating way that didn't let me go, yes it was rather unputdownable until the very fitting end. I would have loved to read an epilogue, perhaps a few months along the way, perhaps a chance meeting with stupid Niall? And friends Ian and Paul acting a bit more like friends (ok, they wrote the list and started everything) instead of nagging and saying hurtful things. Yes, that would have been appreciated.

    5. God, I'm loving these hot, sexy stories from Douglas. Timid and with no self-esteem, thanks to his verbally abusive ex, Kade is dumped by nasty Niall after 8 years cos he's boring and too predictable. Cue the tears and wallowing in self pity BUT Kade's best friend Ian prepares a bucket list of things for him to do, hopefully with the end result of getting him out of the rut he's in AND may be finding someone new.One item on the bucket list is shopping at an Asian supermarketwhere he bumps into s [...]

    6. Blake showed up just at the right time for Kade, who was trying and failing to get over the end of a long-term relationship. Set in rural Scotland with some steamy sex around an open fire with a very hot Australian!

    7. Kade has been dumped after 8 years with Niall. Not only does Niall dump him, but he's told Kade that he's boring, that he doesn't do anything for him anymore. Kade's world is rocked. Devastated, he goes to his friend Ian's home to rant and rave. Ian and his boyfriend Paul sit Kade down and say what Kade doesn't want to hear. Maybe he is a little boring. And Kade is a little set in his ways. So they talk Kade into accomplishing things on a bucket list. One of those things is to shop in an Asian s [...]

    8. After spending years with the same man, Kade Doherty is caught completely off guard when his partner up and leaves him. Psychologically, Kade isn’t handling the situation well, and his friends let him wallow for a bit. Eventually, they give him some tough love and do their best to bring him back into the world of the living. Since Kade lives a mostly simple life, his friends make him a bucket list to get him out of the house and help him recover. While ticking off one of the items on his new bu [...]

    9. I loved the idea and the interaction of the two MCs, but there needed to be more more story, more background, more time for growth. More of Kade's story with his ex and why he lost his confidence. More of Blake's story. Moving from Australia to Scotland to follow a boyfriend showed he felt something for his ex. Starting a new business. There is a nipple piercing, only one. There is chemistry between Blake and Kade. Blake is a dream. Kade is smart. He groaned and leaned in for another kiss, strok [...]

    10. The story's basically about moving on after a particularly nasty breakup. It felt realistic, which is to say that it was sometimes painful, sometimes confusing, sometimes joyful; there were steps forward and back; there were secrets and a reluctance to be vulnerable with someone new; and there was a heaviness to the whole thing. Still, at the end, there was a ray of hope (and that sort of makes the journey worthwhile).

    11. Blake can come rescue me any day! Kade was not in a good place when he met Blake but what resulted was Blake brining out the true Kade and a new start for him. Great novella with very steamy sex & some romance in a Scottish loch mixed in for good measure. Really enjoyed it and wish there was more. :)

    12. This doesn't sound the most appealing, but neither did the other book I read by this author on a whim, and I so enjoyed that, so definitely going to give this a chance and put it on the list.

    13. Douglas Black was a brand new author for me. Picking up The Bucket List was a good move on my part. Not being familiar with the author, or his writing style, I was only too eager to get started. It wasn’t long into the story that I knew I had a winner. I thoroughly enjoyed the story from start to finish. It was refreshing with lots of humour and a plot that pulled you in for the duration.Kade has just recently become single again after being with the same partner for 8 years. To say he was sho [...]

    15. 1.5 starsLet's get things I liked over withI liked Blake, thus not one but two stars. He really seemed like an interesting guy.ough I'm questioning his common sense when it comes to choosing boyfriends, because, for the life of me,I don't know what he saw in Kade .OkKade got dumped by his boyfriend of eight years,Niall, because Niall, apparently, thought that Kade is dullwell,I can't help but agree with him, because it was so tiresome to be inside Kade's head, that I barely managed to stay through the e [...]

    16. A Joyfully Jay review. 4.5 starsThe premise of this story drew me in right from the very beginning. Black gave us an engaging hook, and I was invested immediately in this story. I read this all in one sitting, and though there were a couple of moments that had me scratching my head, I really enjoyed this book. For all that Kade is only twenty-six, he’s pretty much set in his ways. The beginning gives us an interesting juxtaposition of Kade trying to check off an item on his bucket list, and it [...]

    17. I started this book late one night and I couldn't put it down once I started, I had very little sleep but it was worth it! Great characters, I loved Kade from the beginning, yes he has quirks and people may think he's boring but he's not! He's sweet, caring, emotional and puts himself down but he's amazing. Blake oh my Blake is one hot as hell Aussie with gorgeous eyes, sexy hair and he's amazingly kind, sweet and holy sexy. These guys are hot as hell together.wow! This story has emotional, lovi [...]

    18. I admit, personally, the plotted story about, a beginning of a new romance, between Kade and Blake, was simply to short. I really liked both MC's. At the end I wanted to read more. They decided to date seriously, so that's something, but still a lot about their lives felt unfinished. I wanted to read more! It didn't feel completed. I wanted to know more about Blake business and Kade new path, too. So yeah, unsatisfying ending!

    19. The story was a bit dull, and I ended up forcing myself to finish it. Didn't help it's rating any that it felt sort of unfinished at the end. It wasn't a horrible read though, so I left it at 2 stars.

    20. I liked this! Smooth, sweet, and to the point, this book flowed well for me. Sometimes I just need to see the nice guy finish first. I would have loved a page or two from Blake's pov about what happened in the flat. Still this is a fun read. I'm glad that I took the time to pick this one up.

    21. Sweet story with likable characters but too short. I agree with the other review that said it really needed an epilogue. Wish Kade had stood up more to his ex.
