    1. ☢ This is IT, the Last Instalment and My Mission Here is Done the Pippa Cult Now Boasts a Few New Members Muahahahaha Muahahahaha Muahahahaha MacHaloistic Buddy Reread (TiItLIaMMHiDtPCNBaFNMMMMMBR™) ☢Previous rating: 5 stars.New rating: 10 stars.➽ And the moral of this reread is: boom. I'm dead.Bloody shrimping hell. How did I survive reading this book the first time around? I barely made it through this reread, even though I knew what to expect. Damn. You are one hell of an evil woman, [...]

    2. *** 4.44 ***A buddy read with the ladies at the MacHalos! We are always ready for some demons! Holy one winged demon f@#k!!! Well, the way the series was going, we should have been prepared for a hard and bloody ending But you can never truly prepare for the way Ms. DeCosta chooses to deal with her characters and you can never count on her going about things the easy way. Nope. It has to be tough, we have to loose folks we love or love to hate, and we have to get our emotional roller-coaster on! [...]

    3. Full review later when I'm less emotional. How I feel about AkilHow I feel about StefanThis was never going to go well for me.I'm going to give Pippa huge props for doing things a little different, a little dark and twisting up my emotions into a raging mess. I want to say I loved the ending but I'm still pouting a little so at this moment in time I can't. But, I respect where she took the story and I will say that I cried for a Demon and maybe a little girl too.I was so emotional at the end of t [...]

    4. I'm not entirely sure how I feel about this final book in The Veil series. I found the story engaging and exciting, but was also a bit unhappy with some of the happenings! That is actually how I've felt about almost all the books in this series. It is rare that I find myself so engaged by a tale where the main characters manage to infuriate me so much. There was plenty happening in this final book in the series. The Veil has finally fallen and demons are bleeding over onto the streets of Boston. [...]

    5. Buddy read with the Wednesday UF Group of BB&B. Because we all love Akil! When I first read this book I was overwhelmed. All that happened, all the emotions, they just shut my brain off and I never really processed it all. I knew I loved it and that was pretty much it. During this reread I realised how many details I've forgotten or even completely skipped the first time around! As most of my fellow buddy readers I was team Akil throughout the series not only because he is hotter but because I [...]

    6. Ties That Bind is the last book in the epic Veil Series, and holy-smokin'-demons, it’s been one hell-of-a-ride. We've witnessed Muse, Akil, and Stefan kill to protect those they hold dear: We've seen them lose their minds:Try and burn the world:Try and freeze the world:Find love:Lose love:Discover Muse might just be the only half-demon woman capable of stopping this:And now, in Ties That Bind, we witness how it ends. Steel yourselves, folks. The netherworld doesn’t take prisoners.

    7. Normally, I would say something about each character and their development but with this one , I just can't. I don't want to give anything away to those who follow this series or wanna jump into it. What I am gonna tell you though is these characters are completely different. Throw away any preconceptions about what's going to happen. because you will be wrong. I've actually been lucky enough to join and follow along on this journey from start to finish with Pippa DaCosta. I read about Muse when [...]

    8. THISRIES.FUCKING.EPIC!!! It's not often you find those books that grab you and take you for a ride. But when you do, you bend over, grab your ankles and ask for more. And say please. It gave me all the feels and hit all my buttons. I cried, I cursed, I scoffed ( I sure did), I applauded, I snickered, I bitched and moaned, and the sexual frustration, grrrrrrrr! I really felt this book. I feel emotionally wrung out. The characterization, the world building, the plot, the dialogueabsolute fucking c [...]

    9. You know that feeling when you love a book so much you can't get your thoughts organised enough to write a proper review? Well, that's the problem I'm having with Ties That Bind so you're just going to have to forgive me. I fell in love with Pippa DaCosta's Veil series when I read the prequel novella and that love has only grown with each and every instalment. The series really does have it all: fantastic complex and three dimensional characters, jaw dropping action and a plot that is full of mo [...]

    10. I’ve got to say, so much has happened over the course of this series –so much build-up in so many storylines– I wondered how Pippa DaCosta was going to pull it all together with a satisfying ending. But somehow, she did it. At least, it satisfied me. Folks who really hoped for a different HEA may be unhappy, which is always the risk when your story has a love triangle. But for readers like me, who were conflicted, the resolution felt a little bittersweet, but… right. The conclusion of boo [...]

    11. Well, to those that know me on a more personal level it comes as no surprise I am a massive fan of this series (hell I begged you guys to pick it up & for the record BOO-YA) & so I became a stalker. Waiting & watching (I'd like to say patiently but that be a blatant lie) for its release. I was happy to see a cover revel & release date, emails rapidly followed between my GR friend Marianne who told me Pippa was offering arcs to fans. I was so excited I emailed Pippa asking really [...]

    12. *sniffle - I can't believe this is the last one - sniffle* “I was the Deathbringer, the Destroyer, the Mother of Destruction. I was made for the end of all things. This was my time.”It’s all up to Muse now. The fate of both the Netherworld and the Earth are in her hands, in this final book in The Veil series.Normally, I would tell you all about the plot and charactersBut I. Just. Can’t. Do. It.It’s impossible to give you details without giving away any major spoilers. And this book, ab [...]

    13. 5 STARS! This final installment in the Veil series is action packed, and takes us on a journey through Boston and the netherworld, where Muse faces one of the most challenging battles in the series. As a half-demon, her life has been most unconventional. And now things are really starting to heat up! Still discovering her true nature, and where she fits in between worlds, Muse is reunited with the beloved (yet formidable) half-demon, Stefan. And we finally discover the great mystery behind the P [...]

    14. What an unsatisfactory end to what could have been a great story. By this stage, I was skim reading because there was a lot of thinking going on that got no where. The protagonist was so confused. I could have handled that if it was just that. But she kept on getting betrayed by the same people and not doing anything about it. How many times had she said she was finished with Adam. She never did. She was so stupid. I mean learn from your mistakes. I mean that guy was torturing children. In the t [...]

    15. Pippa DaCosta is extremely talented. Every book in this series was a page turner. Ties that Bind was the final book in the series, and it did not disappoint. I can’t say anything about the plot. There isn’t a way to describe it without giving away some major plot points. My emotions were all over the place while reading this. Tensions were high in several scenes. DaCosta is the master of writing manipulative characters. Those characters aren’t necessarily bad. Sometimes those manipulative [...]

    16. HELL HATH NO FURY LIKE A HALF-BLOOD SCORNED.If you want to know how I feel about Ties that Bind, I’ll give you the cliff notes first: It was fantastic, action-packed, nail-biting and suspenseful, with a very heartwarming, as well as heart-wrenching romance. In short: a wonderful finish to a spectacular series. Before the end of the series, Muse must come to term that there are indeed not always happy endings for half-bloods, that some sacrifices are hard to make - even for the Mother of Destruc [...]

    17. I've finished The Veil in 2 days and boy, what an emotionally fucked up ride it was. I couldn't write a review, even rating was difficult. There were things that would normally annoy me to bitchiness but every time Dacosta swept me off my feet and then threw into this emotional limbo. I wanted to give all of the books 5 stars and no stars at the same time. I will definitely re-read. Maybe I can gather my wits enough to talk about the books next time. For now; just wow!

    18. Wow! What a way to end the series! So much happens during this last book and my heart strings were once again tugged on. I find Pippa's characters are always surprising me, yet frustrate me as well at times. I'm bummed that this is the last of the series (per say--I already have read the next after this). Because of this series, I am interested in reading more demon stories by other authors as well.

    19. “I was the Deathbringer, the Destroyer, the Mother of Destruction. I was made for the end of all things. This was my time.”Indeed. I cannot believe that this series is over! Ties That Bind is the conclusion to The Veil, one of the best series I have ever read and definitely, one of my all-time favorites. I was not ready for it to be over but I had to succumb to its call the minute it was on my Kindle.** This review may or may not contain spoilers **First of all, thank you to Pippa for provid [...]

    20. From a half-breed hiding behind her humanity in a workshop in Boston, to the realization that she is the Mother of Destruction, The Veil series has chronicled the transformation of Muse in such an epic and unforgettable way.Throughout the course of this series, there's been heartbreak and loss, pain and destruction, all leading up to one important eventuality: the veil will fall. And fall it did. Muse finds herself in the biggest battle to date now that demons are free to wreak havoc on the stre [...]

    21. I was very quickly pulled into this series. Wow, what a crazy, awesome ride!!! I loved watching Muse and Akil as their characters grew and changed throughout the story. Akil is hands down the sexiest male lead and the relationship between him and Muse was so HOT!!! The scene where Muse finds him laying in front of his fireplace as Mammon mourning her was so beautiful, as were his many sacrifices for her throughout the series. The other supporting characters were wonderfully written as well.My on [...]

    22. I'm going to avoid getting too detailed here as I'm one of the first to review, and I don't want to ruin the ride for anyone else, but this was crazy beautiful. Chaos may be constant, but for Muse’s grand finale, some things change, and some things get left behind entirely. I’m still processing this one and trying to accept we are done with this incredible series. (Say it ain’t so, DaCosta!!)The choices made this time aren’t merely hard, they’re heart-rending.Betrayal of the beloved an [...]

    23. Highly entertaining series. If you are searching a complete and not exceedingly long UF series very well written, great pace, great characters, super badass heroine and very good company, you should try this. Each installment gets better.

    24. Wrap-up on par w/the rest of the series. Not disappointing. This is a decent-enough little UF series. It's by no means on the top of that genre, but if you like UF and have read all the best stuff, this one's not a bad one. It's got its foibles, but I enjoyed it well enough to read (listen to) the whole thing. (If love triangles really get on your nerves, skip this one. That one aspect didn't bug me nearly as much as it does in some series because of the nature of the beasts (MC's); they're demo [...]

    25. ARC copy from the authorWhat a perfect ending to a fantastic series! I really enjoyed following the journey Muse, Stefan and Akil had to take, how their characters grew and how their relationships developed. Will Muse and her two sidekicks, Stefan and Akil, restore the veil and save the world from demons? Will Muse have a happy ending with Stefan or with Akil? Or neither? The story is well wrapped up but the ending is a little bittersweet because not everyone gets a happy ending. Akil is my favor [...]

    26. I don't know if it's possible to put into words what I want to say about this book or the series as a whole. I'm devastated that it has come to a close, but content in it's bittersweet finality. We got to see Muse come full circle and grow into the badass that she is. We saw her love not once, but twice, and Damn Akil for making me cry. Yes, yes he did and I wholly admit it. This book has it all, action adventure, pull at your heart strings throw your kindle at the wall moments. Thank you Pippa [...]

    27. SPOILERS – READ AT YOUR OWN RISKWell, I’m reeling today. This book ripped my heart out. I’ve never cried so hard from a story as I did with this book. I was a sobbing mess around 79%, and I was still teary eyed on my way to work this morning thinking about it all and again on my drive home from work. Unlike Muse, I completely put my trust in Akil and he did not disappoint me. Wow. So moving. So beautiful. In fact, the last 20% of the story was almost anti-climactic for me because what cam [...]
