    1. This is a really short read for me and I was super excited for it when I bought in on my haunted ghost tour of WV. However, it really wasn't what I expected. If you're more interested in the history aspect of the Asylum, this is the book for you. However, I wanted more of the haunted history. There was really only one chapter that was dedicated to Ghosts and even that didn't thrill me.

    2. Though not exactly what I was expecting, this book was full of fascinating stories and insight into a fantastic piece of West Virginia history. With information on psychiatry, architecture, and American history, there is a little bit of everything in this book all wrapped up with a few paranormal encounters at the end. The pictures alone are worth a look.
