    1. Not what I expected I can't say this was a bad book or that it was flawed; I just liked the first book better. I loved reading about Natalya, Radek, and Dante; Kali, not so much. Kali seemed way to concerned with her own emotional state and trying to control everyone else's which, to me, took depth away from the story. I'm not sorry I read this there are story bits it was nice to know. If there is a book three I won't auto buy like I did this one, I will read a sample first.

    2. This book was definitely inferior to the first in the series, for me. I still enjoyed reading it, but I don't consider it worth a re-read. I think it boils down to a few factors:1. I was hoping for more of the characters from the first book, but they're barely present. This story focused more around other characters (which sometimes works well, I was just disappointed, since I liked the original characters more and wanted to know what happened to them).2. This narrating character's narration was [...]

    3. OMG, where to start?!First of all, I was insanely lucky to be a beta for Mariana on Seizing Shadows, so I got to see this book evolve. That said, Mariana is one of the rare kinds of authors who manages to surprise me over and over again in the best way.Seizing Shadows is the second book in Mariana’s Fur, Fangs and Fairies series, and to me it is just as good as Seizing Darkness. Why? Here’s a few reasons:- Seizing Darkness and Seizing Shadows are intertwined which gives you several POV of th [...]

    4. This book was provided by the author to Nerd Girl for an honest review.Great story and amazing characters! I am loving this series. The paranormals and the hybrids are like none other that I have read. There is always some twist. The sequel picks right up where we left off, right in the middle of the chaos. Natalya's past catches up to her and we are introduced to Fane and Kalypso. This is told from Kalypso's POV. She is one of the oldest beings on Earth and you can tell with the way she speaks [...]

    6. I'm a little conflicted with this book. I loved Seizing Darkness and was very excited to read the second installment of this series. While the book on its own was a very good book, it really had nothing to do with the first book. In fact, Radek and Natalia were barely mentioned. We got to know other characters within the circle, and I did find them interesting in their own right. One of the biggest issues I had with this book is the very beginning. I was beyond lost. I almost had to put the book [...]

    7. Seizing Shadows (Fur, Fangs, and Fairies Book 2)I enjoyed this book a lot more because I found the characters a lot more interesting and it was a lot better written. The author knew that you can’t have top tier characters and a lot of action unless these characters are facing other top tier characters. The drama was pretty good, because when you have immortal or near immortal characters they have lives that have extended memories and that was pretty well explained. Two small issues that I had: [...]

    8. This is the second book in this series. Kalypso is an enforcer for the master of the hellhounds and is suppose to be on assignment for him when she is pulled into something with Val and Fane. She also finds out that her friends have been keeping a deadly secret. Kalypso is forced to see what she has been hiding in her heart for a very long time. Will she be able to help her friends? No spoilers here but this is a definite must read. Would recommend this series to everyone. Thank you Mariana Thor [...]

    9. UpheavalThere was some major upheaval in this book. We got some answers but also more questions. The main issue/protagonist was dealt with in this book. There were still some major questions that were not answered. The overall flow of the story was good. The book starts a about a week into the last book so there is some overlay that does explain some points. There were some editing issues in this book. Overall a solid book and story arc, looking forward to the next book.

    10. I really enjoyed reading this book and am glad that I had the opportunity to do so. It moved along at a great pace, has amazing characters that you will fall in love with and a story that will grab you and keep you interested from beginning to end. This is a must read, there is no doubt about it. You will not be sorry.

    11. I didn't like this ons as much as I did the first. It took me a little bit to figure out the story was picking up at an earlier time then the last one ended, just being told by a different person. The whole thing seemed a little disjointed and lacked any sort of flow.

    12. I was disappointed. read book 1 first if you want this one to make sense. this one involves the death of a beloved central character. there is a dastardly far plot involved. everyone dies but is brought back to life. just not as good as book 1.
