    1. ARC received for review3.5 starsI love Ms. McKenna's books. This is only the second one I've read in this series, but it was great. I really loved that the heroine had not been physically abused or raped in her past like in so many of Ms. McKenna's books. Gil and Kai knew each other when they were in the military. She was married to his BFF, but he had always loved her. They had 5 glorious days together about a year after the husband died, but he left without goodbye and really hurt her. They wo [...]

    2. Excellent friends to lovers story. Gil and Kai became friends when Kai met and married Gil's best friend and fellow Delta Force operator Sam. After Sam's death, Gil would check in on Kai often. When his brother was killed in action, in his grief Gil went to Kai, who was still grieving for Sam. Their shared grief erupted in passion, and they had five intense days together. Then Gil disappeared without a word, leaving Kai devastated, angry and feeling used. Four years later, Kai is out of the army [...]

    3. There's not too much about NIGHT HAWK that I enjoyed, from the terrible plot to the clichéd characters to the head scratching climax, this lengthy book didn't do a thing for me.Former Army helicopter repair woman Kai Tiernan has been all over looking for ranch work, but she's struck out every single time. Her luck is finally turning around when she's hired by the Triple H Ranch in Wyoming, but her joy is short lived when she finds out her former lover and her dead husband's best friend Gil Hanf [...]

    4. This story has a compelling premises, the widow of a former best friend, whom Gil has always liked, comfort him, after Gil's brother dies in combat. The always buried feelings burst into life, and Gil and Kai spend five magical days together, loving, laughing, and healing. Until the war, and life sets them apart, until they meet again, four years later, working at the same ranch.I love that the ranch employs veterans, the camaraderie, family like atmosphere, is uniting and healing. The character [...]

    5. I received an ARC of this title in exchange for an honest review and here it is. 4.5 starsKai Tiernan is a former Army mechanic who had to leave the military due to downsizing, and whose husband, Sam, a Delta Force operative, lost his life 5 years ago. When we first meet Kai, she's trying desperately to find a job as a ranch mechanic and wrangler, when she applies for a job at the Circle H ranch, and is surprised to find that Talon Holt, who interviews her, was also an operative, as are several [...]

    6. This is Lindsay McKenna’s 10th book of in her wonderful, heartwarming Wyoming Series. It was delightful to revisit characters from the past and observe how they interact with the latest characters added to the mix. Above all else, love and family, whether by blood or by choice, are what sustains these human spirits and well being. Here is the story of Gil Hanford, a former Delta Force sergeant and Kai Tiernan, a former US Army Apache combat helicopter mechanic. They share an intense and compli [...]

    7. Night Hawk is a very special story about two extraordinary people. Ms. McKenna understands the human psyche and beautifully brings you into the world of her characters, in a seemingly effortless manner. I could not put this book down! She has crafted a poignant story about Gil Hanford, a Delta Force Sergeant, who served in Afghanistan with Sam Morrison, a fellow operative and Gil's best friend. Sam is married to Kai Tiernan, a U.S. Army Apache Combat Helicopter Mechanic. Gil loved Kai at first si [...]

    8. 3.5 stars!Gil and Kia had a steamy session of five days when Gil disappeared Kia was left distrustful, with no trace of what happened to Gil. Its been a while since then and she is looking for a job. Its just her luck that the one place willing to hire her as a mechanic and Gil is one of the main people there. Its then that she realized she never gotten over what happened in the past with him and Gil will try to gain her trust once more.I liked this book. It took me a couple shots to actually pi [...]

    9. Originally published at Reading RealityNight Hawk is a combination of several themes that I have come to enjoy recently. It’s a small town/contemporary western romance, with two strong ex-military protagonists. And it has just a touch of romantic suspense thrown in.Also, this particular story in McKenna’s Jackson Hole series is a second-chance-at-love story, and I’m always a sucker for one of those. However, this is book 10 in an ongoing series, and I’ll confess to not having read any of [...]

    10. I received a complimentary book from Net Galley in exchange for an honest review.I am a longtime Lindsay McKenna fan. When this author writes about military pilots, she is speaking from experience. Since she was a pilot in the Navy, she personally understands the military women’s feelings and experience. In Ms. McKenna’s novels, the women are all independent and hard-working and can work and fly as well as any man. Yet, she still has a woman’s feeling when it comes to love and romance. The [...]

    11. Night Hawk is the 10th book in the Jackson Hole series, but it's the first book that I have read. A good sign of a successful series is when they say a book can be read as a stand alone, they really mean it. I like that I can pick up any book in the series and never feel lost. While references were made to previous books, I never felt out of the loop reading Night Hawk. It is a good second chance story. By coincidence, Gil and Kai end up working at the same ranch, years after Gil left Kai withou [...]

    12. 4 StarsNight Hawk is the 10th installment in Lindsay McKenna's Wyoming series. This book can be read as a stand alone be you will visit characters from previous installments in the series so there is a chance of spoilers.Kai Tiernan, a former US Army helicopter mechanic and Gil Hanford, a former Delta Force Sergeant. Kai was married to Sam Morrison, a military brother of Gil's and his best friend. Gil has had strong feelings for Kai for years but never acted on those feeling because of Sam. Afte [...]

    13. 4 STARS Good plot, likable characters. Some new ones and plenty of older ones from previous books. Lots of drama, mystery and romance. A couple of love scenes that I skimmed over.Kai Tiernan is a mechanic and wrangler. She has been looking for a ranch job but no one wants to hire a female for the job. Kai is a widow and she is a vet. She wants to find a home.Gil Hanford was in special force. He is now the forman of a Triple H ranch in Jackson Hole, Wyoming. He knew Kai in the military in fact th [...]

    14. I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. This story is about Gil Hanford and Kai Morrison. Gil was the best friend and comrade in arms to Kai’s late husband, Sam, and was friends with both Sam and Kai for years. There’s an entire story here so I won’t recap but life moves ahead a few years and Kai and Gil have been estranged during that time but meet up once again at the Triple H Ranch. This is quite a group of characters as most of the folks living and working on t [...]

    15. Being so engrossed in Ms. McKenna's DELOS world, it's nice to go back to what I consider classic Lindsay McKenna. She still has her military ties, true, but it's a more 'regular' world we deal with in NIGHT HAWK. This book takes a spin on friends, but also on wife-of-friend. Kai and Gil have been friends for many years, but more than that, she was married to his best friend. After his death, these two learn to grieve both together and separately. Like most (if not close to all) of her tales, thi [...]

    16. McKenna writes strong characters who show us the real struggles in their lives and who demonstrate real emotion. Night Hawk is no exception. Kai is recently severed from the military and begins work at a ranch that previous readers will recognize. She quickly realized that Gil works there too, whom she hasn't seen in 4 years. The story is about learning to forgive, to trust, and to love.I really liked this story and give it 4 stars. There was a little too much of the same type of mentally examin [...]

    17. "McKenna brings us a tender, vulnerable story with two emotionally wounded ex-military characters at its center. Set in beautiful Wyoming, McKenna’s heartfelt story seamlessly blends the past with the present. Her battled-tested characters will have readers invested and turning the pages. Fans of McKenna will not be disappointed in her latest passion-infused love story" (RT Book Reviews, 4 stars).Miniseries: Jackson Hole, Wyoming , book 10

    18. Gil Hanford had been in love with Kai Tiernan since his first sight of her. But she married his best friend and a friend is all he would be for her. Now Kai is widowed and working on the same ranch as Gil. He still has feelings for her but how does she feel about him? Both have to let go of the past to get on with the future.Although a good story, there was a lot of repetition. Too much talk by Gil of him blaming himself. He loved her so why did it take so long for him to tell her? She loved him [...]

    19. I was given a copy in exchange for an honest review.I really do enjoy this author's work. Though this one kind of fell flat for me. It had a lot of repetitiveness to it. I did like the characters, but I had a hard time staying interested in the story. Gil and Kia have known each other for a long time. When tragedy strikes Gil turns to Kia and then disappears for 5 years. After they reconnect, it's a struggle for both of them to be honest about what they are feeling. Can these two make it?

    20. This is probably a 3.5 book because the story is very slow getting started and seems to drag with too much repeating of information. I have enjoyed all of these books but this one was a little slow. Love blooms where it is planted and Gil Hanford fell hard for Kai Tieman before she married his best friend. This is a story of two people who became friends first. After several years of not seeing each other, they end up working together at the Triple H Ranch. Can they overcome their problems?

    21. This book was a bit of a disappointment. The relationship of the two protagonists was based on a secret kept - get a life folks - just explain what happened. As normal people, the seals, delta force and operatives were not as interesting as when they are in a war situation. For the "bad guy", Chuck Harper to back down simply because he was threatened by a black ops guy is totally unrealistic.

    22. Second Chance at Love Love overcomes time, distance, and mistrust to bring two former lovers together again. McKenna continues to write about characters that have the highest integrity and true honor. They give the reader insight about true caring for others as well as romantic love. There is enough danger to make the book exciting as well.

    23. Good storyWhile the isn't much suspense, this is truly a character study. Two people must explore their past to find there future. At times it felt a little repetitive. I would have liked a little more from the secondary romance, but it was good to see a happy resolution. Overall, this was another McKenna success.

    24. Another winner for Lindsay McKenna, I love this series and this is an especially sweet, wonderful book. The characters in this series are lost souls until they find that one true love and then its a gentle glide into that good night. Looking forward to the next one, I hope it's Cass' story.

    25. Kai and Gil. most of the book was back and forth feelings/memories that they have for each other. there was about 20 pages of action in the last part of the book and then bam it was over. I'm glad we got to revisit the Holt family, that was nice. just wasn't feeling the book I guess.

    26. I so enjoy this book! I loved the. main couple and all the other people in the story. It will be a book I keep to read many more times.
