    1. Although the format reminds me that I must have read a previous book by this author, I can't remember if and when. I'm certainly glad I decided to read this. A good mixture of crime and national secrets, all investigated by a PI and a reporter. It soon became apparent to me that this was not their first case. The tale moves along at a steady pace with just enough suspense to lift the narrative and ensure the reader must get back to it after putting it down to do some chores. I liked it enough to [...]

Although this is not the first book in the Gavin & Palmer series it was the first one I read.It tells of Palmer seeing someone he recognises from his time as an MP with the army just prior to the Berlin Wall coming down. The story then entails the men involved in gun running,art theft and murdering of any witnesses.A decent read set at a good pace

    3. Unbelievable is expected in a novel, but the behaviour of the two main characters verge on the ridiculous. The author should have named them Tom & Jerry as their behaviour is move suitable for a book containing them.
