    1. This is the story of IsaiahRaised in an abusive and religious home until the age of 25, Isaiah finally emerged into the real world, for the first time experiencing modern society. Helped by his sister, Fiona (For A Good Time, Call), who provided him with a hooker for practice, he learned all the ways life he had missed out on in the woods. That was six years agoAnd Isaiah has demons. Finding himself detached from society as a whole and wholly unable to connect with or trust women, he engages in m [...]

    2. 3.25 starsThis is a second read cuz I never reviewed it the first time. I liked this a lot, but it's definitely not for everyone Ladies: don't read this. It's not pretty, you'll hate the H, possibly even the hd I don't think either character acted out of character. The H has a problem with giving a shit about women's feelings because of his severe religious background and the physical abuse he sustained growing up. When he finally gets free of it, he has trouble making connections in general with [...]

    3. DissentMy beloved Isaiah gets his own story. We first met Isaiah in Gadziala's story For a Good Time Call. Isaiah grew up under an overzealous religious fanatic father, who had no trouble abusing the hell out of his children to get his religious teachings to stick. Isaiah was obedient as they come, and he never got a chance to leave his home and awaken to the real world until after his father's death. Isaiah's father taught him to be distrustful and closed off to women. All women. After getting [...]

    4. We first met Isaiah in his sister's book, For a Good Time Call. He was raised by a warped religious father who believed women should only cook and clean and used beatings as punishment. Isaiah is therefore unable to trust and connect to women and hasn't allowed himself to get close to one. Until he meets his neighbor, Darcy. She's in a band and she's loud and opinionated and absolutely beautiful. To get closer to Darcy, Isaiah joins her road crew. Turns out a stalker is after Darcy as well. A ro [...]

    5. 5 Dark Rocker Stars So I dived right into this book after "For a Good Time call " I fell for Fiona and I loved the story. I really needed to hear Isaiah's story. It was dark, gritty and full of mystery. I loved it and I fell hard for both Isaiah and Darcy. Darcy is a sexy rocker who has a hidden intelligent side that Isaiah can't help but fall for. Isaiah is a complex individual who has had so much heart ache through out his life has caused him to be emotional stunted. This story is Dark with a [...]

    6. After my girl crush on Fiona (For a Good Time Call), I was a bit worried about how I would feel about Isaiah. I decided to approach Dissent with an open mind and I am SO glad I did!The poor man is so sweetly awkward in expressing himself and absolutely crept into my heart. There were some parts where I really felt sorry for him and how lost he felt. I can't even imagine how hard it must have been for him (Well done with the imagining of this character!).Darcy is quite a force of nature. She is f [...]

    7. 4.5 *, I really enjoyed the story about Isaiah and Darcy took off a half star just for some editing issues.

    8. Never has it pained me so much to give a 1 star review. But I'd rate this book even lower if I could. At first, I was justThen, I thoughtThere was a bit of thrown in there for the first 70%Until finally it was all just- Nothing. Seriously, I liked this book less than FSOG.(view spoiler)[This book is in the romance category. If it was a crime drama, or pretty much anything that is not contemporary romance, I wouldn't have rated it so low. But it is. And yet, here is what I garnered from the 80% of [...]

    9. *sigh* A huge let down, to be honest, especially after the amazing story. Fiona's story. I was expecting something deep, something beautiful that will left me all scarred but It was a wee bit disappointing. Isaiah's burden is just as heavy as Fiona's. What their shitty dad made them do? Insanity. But they both made it but this time, Isaiah's on his own. Will he be ready to conquer the world? I was not expecting a heroine like Darcy. She's a metal singer, for crying out loud. At first I wasn't su [...]

    10. Wow. Not what I expected but love it, I did! At first I wasn't sure what I would think about this book and I put it off for a long time. Why oh why?! A brilliant read! The characters are real and so touchable. Highly suggest!

    11. On the heels of "For a Good Time Call" comes the story of Fiona's brother, Isaiah. Isaiah was also a victim of their father's abusively strict religious upbringing. After his father's death, with the help of his sister, Isaiah learns about the real world. 6 years later he is living his life with empty sexual conquests. His new neighbor, Darcy is a free spirited rock star. He finds her a breath of fresh air and a challenge to conquer. Attempting to learn more about her he joins her road crew. The [...]

    12. I liked this book. Isaiah is a complex individual who was sheltered his entire life until his father and grandma passed away. He had no understanding of the outside world. He lived in a shack with no electricity, no running water. He inherited a ton of money from his grandmother decided to hit NYC were his sister Fiona aka Fee lived. Fiona showed him her world and Isaiah adjusted , he worked in the financial district, turned into a male whore and tried to fit in. He then meets Darcy Monroe and f [...]

    13. I wish GR allowed half-stars because I couldn't give this 5 stars but it came so close! I liked the characters, I liked the writing, and I liked the story - with one exception. Unfortunately, the resolution felt just a tad bit rushed, so I didn't get the tingles I usually get. Particularly here since there was a huge plot point so late in the game. But I still highly recommend this book and this author. Can't wait to read more.

    14. I liked Darcy throughout the book. However Isaiah was a different story. I don't agree with guys trying to forget someone by being with another. He used all 7 elsewhere. It took sometime but I eventually began to like him. I was a surprised at who the obsessed stalker was. Poor Poe. I'm wondering if her band mates will get a story of their own.

    15. I wasn't sure I was going to like this book because I really wanted it to be about Mallick brothers but in the end a well told story wins me over.

    16. It's amazing how Jessica can manage the fact that you hated Isaiah because of what Fee's went through, for how much suffering she dealt with, because he went to look for her and demanded something that was difficult for her. And then, Jessica managed that you start getting into him, wanted to know more about him, his suffering, his story, his past. Getting to the end of "For a Good Time Call", she managed to get you growing a feeling for him, making him insecure, funny even. So, I started to car [...]

    17. For a complete review visit my blog.Short review! The book is dark, just have to warn you there. It´s dark and abusing, but o so good. I fell in love with Isaiah in the first chapter and got to really learn to know him. How he struggles and tries so hard made my heart ache. I was not a big fan of Darcy to an beginning but she eventually grew on me. What surprised me the most is how ruff Gadziala made this book. It is a little unlike her other books. I have a very few triggers when it comes to bo [...]

    18. IncredibleI didn’t expect to like Isaiah. After reading For a Good Time Call, I was wary about reading a book with him as a hero. I was wrong. He may have started out as an asshole, but he was damaged by his upbringing too, and eventually he learned to get past that and really love someone else. Darcy was amazing, a fantastic foil for someone still dealing with a twisted view of women. She was fierce and fiery and intense and a little crazy and I loved her. If you’ve read Jessica’s other b [...]

    19. The first 2/3 of the book was a bit ordinary and read like so many other romances I’ve read before, and with a large chunk in the middle that paced so slowly I was tempted to DNF the book. I was glad I pressed on however, as it got much better after that. There was a chapter from a very heartbroken Isaiah’s POV around the 70% mark that was so angsty and emotional, I don’t think I’ve felt such sympathy and heartbreak for a H in any recent reading experience. Then there was drama and angst [...]

    20. 2.5 starsI knew Isaiah will be hard to love. There were times that the book was 5 star material and others 1 star material. The way he sees women is disturbingShe said she will make him respect her. She just put him to workSex was good but not even that convinced me how the fell for each otherShe threw him out of the bus but he shouldn't have left knowing he wasn't the one with the notesBoy she came out of her catatonic behaviour pretty quick after he came to her. Too quick imho.
