    1. This is another of those series that really didn’t need more than one book. I loved the first one. This one I felt like the author was struggling and just never could get the flow right.

    2. In the sequel to The Secret History of Tom Trueheart, the youngest of seven brothers in the last surviving family of storybook heroes must, once again, set out to save the older six. Not only that, but he must rescue five princesses who were spirited away on their wedding day before the helpless, horrified eyes of their wedding guests. Also, he has to stop a renegade Story Bureau scribe, now styling himself the King of Unhappy Endings, from marching an Army of Darkness against the Land of Storie [...]

    3. I read this aloud to my boys. Jared stayed with it to the end. Luke ended up not making it through the whole story. Sometimes running around the house with your little brother and scaring and chasing your big sister can be more exciting. In this adventure young Tom has to go rescue his 6 brothers and 5 sister-in-laws to be (One brother doesn't YET have a sweetie, but will soon, don't worry) from the evil Ormstone. Along the way he his looking for his father who has been captured by the evil man. [...]

    4. In the book Tom Truehart and the land of Dark stories by Ian Beck, Tom Truehart has to save his brothers and their brides from Ormestone. Ormestone took them to the land of Dark stories to make a new story tale for them. His Sprite shrunk Tom so He had to ride on his friend Jollity the crow's back to rescue his brothers and their brides. When Tom got to the Land of Dark Stories his brothe Jack Truehart escaped. While his brothers and the brides got taken off to seperate locations. The men went t [...]

    5. Well, I've renewed it twice at the library. I've started it with the girls, then we ran out of steam. I have tried and tried to finish it, but I'm not getting into it. I think it'd be more fun to listen to in the car as an audio book. What I've read is still clever and interesting, but maybe it's following too much the pattern set by the first. I really like the IDEA of lots of classic stories combined into one - Rumpelstiltskin, Tom Thumb, etc But I'm not grabbed by this. Too bad - I really wan [...]

    6. When the villian Ormestone kidnaps Tom's six older brothers and their princess brides,Tom knows he must make the journey to the dark land. He's an adventuring Trueheart, after all,and it won't be the first time he's faced Ormestone. But does he stand a chance after Ormestone shrinks him to the size of a thumb? His friend Jollity the crow will be by his side, and the strong-willed princesses have a plan of their own.But in the end, this adventure rests on Tom's tiny shoulders.

    7. Sadly I didn't realize this was the second book of this series (it doesn't list it anywhere on the hardcover I picked up for a dollar), so the info dump from a character on page 11 about what i assume happened in book one is giving this book a very rocky start for me. Still, the fantastic elements are interesting for a book geared toward 8-12 year olds (THAT was listed on the inside cover).

    8. I bought this book for my daughter not realising that it was the second in the series. I thought it was dreadful but she quite liked it, so now I'm going to have to read the first and third parts to her as well. The things we do for our children.

    9. it continues the first book perfectly though i didn't LOVE it i would still read it again it went right into were it last ended in the first book not one thing that i hated in this book!!!READ THIS BOOK!! ( BUT AFTER THE 1ST ONE OF COURSE)

    10. Great kid's book. If you like joseph Delaney spooks books- you will enjoy this. Not too much about wizards but has a similar feel to it. will read the oothers

    11. The second book was as great as the first. I love the refreshing look at fairy tales and the exciting twists and turns in the familiar stories. It was fun to read.

    12. It was cute. I just wish the story didnt feel so rushed. Also I wish they would put numbers on the side of the book .-.

    13. I loved this book(: It was very cute. If you like kiddy adventure tales this is the book for you.
