    1. Prequel short story intro setting the scene for main novel Angel's GuardianWhich I look forward to reading. This is a vampire with a moral code, the sort we would probably be pleased to have around, helps the weak and vulnerable by destruction of their predatory scum. I would have had the fear of the thieving drug dealing killer more drawn out. I found the part with Whistler very emotiver a second thought this isn't for me, but it didn't dwell on this but focused positively on Jonathan. I now wan [...]

    2. “Vampire, Not Monster” by Zeecé Lugo is a short story that serves as a prelude to the author’s new novel, “Angel’s Guardian,” and does so in fine fashion. The story introduces Maxim, a vampire like none I’ve ever read about and a boy, Jonathan who lives on the streets to avoid his alcoholic, abusive mother and his pedophile step-father. How these two meet establishes each character and sets the stage for the subsequent novel.I’ve been a reading fan of Zeecé Lugo for several yea [...]

    3. It was OK, but just a teaser. This may be a book I downloaded for free from BookBub, and if so, I suppose you get what you pay for. I didn't realize it was just a few chapters and not a complete story so I was annoyed when it ended so quickly. I may go back to it but this book is down the list, there are so many good books out now.

    4. Interesting PlotVery good introduction to a new series, perfect amount of intrigue, sorrow and excitement. Planning on reading this series in the very near future!

    5. Well-Written.A good short story that is well-written. I liked how the characters were described & how the third person writing was able to take on the character's point of view.

    6. Very goodI'm now excited to read this series, it looks like a very good read, hope it continues to be awsome

    7. It's hard to rate a prequel. The storylines usually aren't as developed as they are meant to either entice you to buy the proceeding novel, or in some cases, the readers demand it, as they want to know more about how the main character came to be. I've already read Angle's Guardian and LOVED it. In the novel, Jonathan plays an important role, but we come in after him & Max have already been friends for several decades. This short story explains how and why they met. It also sets you up to th [...]

    8. Good short story. Descriptions a little on the fanciful side, but not too annoyingly so. Will def check out the next book in the series.

    9. I am not a huge fan of vampires, usually sticking to the classics like Anne Rice, but Ms. Lugo has hooked me. I will definitely be purchasing and reading the next book in the series.
