So, a few Facebook friends were launching a book that sounded interesting so I went along to a launch in Sydney, and enjoyed the readings enough that I bought a copy of Gold Standard 2016.It really is an interesting collection of short fiction, with voices from Indonesia, Singapore, Vietnam, the Philippines, Hong Kong, China, Taiwan, and writers from the diaspora.     2. I really enjoyed this anthology and look forward to more of BooksActually's Gold Standards in the coming years. It offers a wide-ranging and fascinating spectrum of short stories that span countries, topics, mythologies, histories, concerns; it is recognisably Asian in its remit, as it sets out to be, yet the Asia you see here is so far from homogenous, and it's about individuals as much as about societies.
