    1. An interesting account of the circumstances leading up to the Spanish Armada and the attack itself. As far as non-fiction books go, it was short and quite readable. I'm definitely interested in learning more about Queen Elizabeth I.

    2. This was excellent, simply put. Elizabeth's resistance of Philip was always one of the more interesting aspects of her reign to me. It was interesting to see how these two strong-willed sovereigns butted heads. The details of the Armada and its battle with the English were well written (go Fire Ships!). As always, I learned a few new tidbits about Elizabeth along the way and I enjoyed learning more about Philip as well.

    3. Wonderful book about Philip of Spain and Elizabeth I of England. It had not registered with me before that Philip had been married to Elizabeth's sister, "Bloody" Mary, and must take part of the blame for the persecution of Catholics that Mary practiced during her reign. Why weren't history books this interesting when we had to read them in school?

    4. An entertaining narrative history of the Armada and the events leading up to it, centered on the two towering personalities of Elizabeth I of England and Philip II of Spain.
