    1. Darth Maul at its best is an entertaining comic set before the years of the Phantom Menace (The Darth Vader and the ongoing Star Wars comics are set after the events of Episode IV). You'd know right away that this mini-series isn't geared towards character development like the Vader series but more towards action-packed cinematic fights with light sabers and blasters. After all, Maul isn't an introverted brooding badass like Darth Vader. Rather, he is an extroverted pragmatic sonofab*tch. So yes [...]

    2. Darth Maul isn't my favorite Star Wars character, but this comic was still an entertaining look at his younger years. The artwork was excellent.

    3. A good start and this seems like it's going to be a fun series. I really like the extra droid story at the end of this issue, but I hope they aren't always there because I'd rather Marvel use that space for more Maul screen time.

    4. Pretty good. Darth Maul monologues throughout this issue are very interesting. Who is the apprentice??

    5. A pretty good start to the series. I like how it sheds more light on Maul's personality and seems to blend Phantom Menace and Clone Wars/Rebels Maul.

    6. Not a great start but good enough to keep me up for the next one. A padawan for Darth Maul that look promising!

    7. Interesting start to the series. After watching the Clone Wars animated series, it will be nice to see a before the Phantom Menace look at Maul, one of my favorite characters in the Star Wars universe. I'm really interested in seeing how this arc pans out knowing what the future holds for him. I think this was a solid first issue. It provides knowledge of the bloodlust within Maul, and I really like the artwork so far. Really looking forward to continuing this series. Already have every issue in [...]

    8. I really like this depiction of Darth Maul as a restless monster who can't wait to be unleashed and needs an outlet to channel his aggression. The droid story at the end knocks a star off though. These are generally too silly, and it's weird to think that "Probe Droid Problem" is takes place between scenes of The Phantom Menace whenever one watches it.

    10. Disclaimer: I'm not huge on graphic novels. I've read a few I really enjoyed, but this one was only okay in my opinion. It gives some good background information on Darth Maul, but I found the reasons for his hatred toward the Jedi weak. Sorry guys, I just don't buy it.

    11. MehWasn't the worse. Wasn't the best. I'll see how it pans out through the rest of the series of I'll get bored and stop buying them

    12. Good fast read to scratch that Darth Maul itch. Didn't care for the mini comic that they added at the end though.

    13. I actually read the trade paperback in it's entirety. As always anything with Darth Maul is great!!!

    14. Not for me. Fantastic artwork, I just didn't get into the story. And D Maul isn't exactly my favorite character.

    15. Maul gets startedGreat start to a Maul story. Getting to see his emotions building. Good artwork and story in the star wars universe.

    16. Ok. 👌. Not stellar, but not bad. Interesting and ambitious: giving a narrative to a perceived one-dimensional character. In other news, Maul is ice-cold.

    17. Short but goodHuge Darth Maul Fan here. Enjoyed the book, even the unnecessary short story at the end but would've preferred a few more pages to the Darth Maul comic instead

    18. My favorite part was actually the short mini-story at the end that explained away one of the continuity errors in The Phantom Menace.

    19. Short but good introduction to the series. Am anxiously waiting for the next issue to be released so I can read what will happen next.

    20. I very much enjoyed this introduction to a hopefully long story arc (and more) of the Red Horned Sith. Seeing the small connection to Force Awakens was a nice nod and i was very intrigued by who the individual that had been abducted was: Sing or Ventress? Great Read
