I have read two other Henry mcDonald books on the Troubles on two other paramilitary groups, UVF and INLA,and this book also uses inside sources and interviews with UDA members, including Johnny Adair, to tell the story of the UDA. Although the title suggests the narrative would lean towards the sectarian violence, it fairly treats all aspects of the UDa story, including its key role in the 1974 UWC strike that brought down the power sharing executive that spring.
