    3. One way of thinking about the wide variety of manifestations that Sufism takes is to divide the Orders into those whose focus is on "sobriety", and those that focus on "ecstasy." The North African Daroawi (or Darqawi) firmly belongs to the ecstatic group. These letters from the head sheikh to his students are a pure example of the ecstatic tradition.

    4. It contains concise advice and is definitely worth reading again. The shadhili emphasis on remembrance and the surrender to the Divine will is beautifully explained.
