    1. Blood and biting and fighting--Yay!There are few authors that write female protagonists I enjoy in romance, which is why I read so many MM books, but Burkhart is one. She hits all the right buttons for me in this novella with the cursed and formidable Chanda and her lover, Jalan. Dragon shifters, exotic locale and a saga of epic proportions are condensed into this tale. The sex is aggressive and HOT! And there's biting! Yes :D This is part of a series, but is completely separate from the three b [...]

    2. 3.5 StarsI enjoyed this novella, even though I was confused at times. I'm pretty sure I should have paid more attention to the glossary at the beginning of the book. Regardless, it was engaging, beautifully written and different enough that I didn't care about being lost. I just wanted to keep reading. I'm definitely going to check out more of this author's books. Her writing style is captivating.

    3. I absolutely love the mythology Joely created for Keldar. The gods, their names, their purpose, nothing is thrown in half hazerdly for the sake of just being there. Instead she integrates it into the story in a way that makes it seem that much more tangible, that much more three-dimensional. I truly envy (in the best possible way) her world buidling skills. And the characters, well, Joely’s just excellent with characters.Personally, Chanda had me at the tag line.“Hundreds of warriors have bra [...]

    4. Cute but not as good as others in the series. I guess I expected more, but I guess the others ruined me for other books lmao. Cute story, just didn't have enough of a connection to the characters I guess.

    5. This is a novella and what seems to be the prequel for the trilogy Blood and Shadows. I actually re-read it just to make sure that I didn't miss something important that would have made me connect with the story and characters better, but alas this book simply wasn't my cup of tea. The story was confusing and convoluted. Chandra, the main character, has been a dragon, the White Dragon, for centuries after being cursed after she cursed her own people after being rejected by the man she loved. The [...]

    6. Synopsis: "Chanda, cursed to dragon form for her sins by She Who Hung the Moon, and Jalan, the Krait warrior who is her perfect match, must win an impossible battle. Jalan must love herd then kill her. She must love himd die."My Review: I enjoyed this story, it was short but still a fully developed story. I really like how Burkhart managed to keep the personalities so separate from dragon form to human form. You could really feel the difficulty the Krait people are facing and the desperation Jal [...]

    7. This, unexpectedly, is one of my all-time favorite stories. Unexpected, because it's sort of heavy on the romance, which isn't typically my thing. But it is told in such a powerful voice through the eyes of such convincing characters and the romance is woven so skillfully through the storyline, that I not only didn't mind it, I actually LOVED it. I attribute this to the fact that the pacing is edge-of-your-seat from the very first word, the world-building is top notch, and the characters are a b [...]
