Written in 1966 (that is copyright date) with art that is um, not PC, and with language that is dated) the story, written by a former missionary chronicles the experiences of Kamwendo, a boy who came to the mission to go to school. It clearly shows the attitudes of racism and cultural imperialism of the previous century.I think it is a good read, not because the story is good, or particularly compelling, or well written. Taken at face value, one misses the implicit racism and cultural imperialis [...]
