    1. The audio version of this book is read by Amy, which makes all the difference. After reading much of her fiction, it is a joy to put together the pieces of the author’s life as it has created the voices of her stories and characters. Most compelling is her account of the symptoms, diagnosis, and treatment of Lyme disease, which I knew little about. I also love it that she’s in a band with Stephen King and Dave Barry, amongst others: the Rock Bottom Remainders.

    2. This was my latest book in the car to read on CD. Mrs. Orton from Weber gave it to me to listen to. It was really interesting. It makes me want to reread her books. Linda got tired of the end of it when she was discussing how hard, long and involved it was for doctors to finally figure out what her Lyme disease was. However, I thought it was pretty interesting, as I had gone through a similar situation a few years back. We all connect to different things!

    3. Having the story told by a dead narrator somehow worked very well. I was fascinated by the trip to China and Burma, especially all the commentary about the political aspects of what was ostensibly an art tour. This is a fascinating book!
