    1. A household of raccoons discover how much mama does on a daily basis when Mama's illness causes them to need to fill the gap. The story is told in rhyme. Great for young readers.

    2. The mother raccoon is sick. Father and the kids think they will be fine without mom so they let her rest all day. They were in for a surprise, they struggled throughout the day but don't want the mother to know. They make sure everything is take care of by the time mom racfoon gets out of bed and the mother raccoon is impressed at how well they did without her. The colors for the illustrations are very dark and bright.Teachable points: always appreciate your mom, sick people need rest, dad's can [...]

    3. My niece would like this book read to her over and over! They are taking care of Mama because she is sick. The raccoon family has to take on all of the things Mama does. Cooking, cleaning, and making dinner. The pictures are adorable and tell the story more than the words. Definitely for ages 5 and under.

    5. Oh no! Mama Raccoon is sick – she must spend the day in bed resting and recovering! Papa Raccoon and the three little ones are confident that they can take care of the house while Mama is sleeping, and they do – but just barely. They never realized how hard Mama Raccoon worked keeping everyone fed and the whole house clean! How much she must love them! The story is told in rhyming poetry and is accompanied by illustrations that are very bright, but also very warm. The raccoons live in a human [...]

    6. Grandma checked this out for my toddler when I was ill and bedridden for a few days. Mama Raccoon is sick, so her raccoon family takes good care of her bringing food, playing quietly so she can rest, and generally taking care of things. It was a good book to help my 2 year old understand that it was ok that his mom wasn't getting out of bed, and it also gave him a grasp of how to help a sick person. He proudly brought me aspoon, kleenex, and anything else he could think of to "take care of mama. [...]

    7. A sweet picture book about a raccoon family working together to take care of their sick mama. Mom's I'm sure will read this to their children in hopes that they'll get the hint. The illustrations are bright and colorful and reminded me a bit of Mercer Mayer. It's a cute story, but I did find the typical stereotype of how Dad can't handle anything and if you leave him in charge things will crazy a bit annoying. But at least it wasn't the Dad's fault for the mess and he could actually cook lunch! [...]

    8. Though not specifically about Mother's Day, this is a good book for Moms to read with their children, so they can see that there's a lot that Moms do behind the scenes to keep their homes in good working order. It takes a lot of effort and the family in this book bend over backwards to make sure Mom gets the rest she needs when she is sick. Our girls liked this story enough for me to read it twice.

    9. This is a great book for children who are in pre-school or kindergarten. I enjoyed the book because it shows how much the mother does in a day that the rest of the family do not notice. I liked how the father went in and tried his very best to do what the mother would do taking care of the children. As well as the children taking care of the mother trying to make vegetable soup.

    10. The book Taking Care of Mama by Mitra Modaressi is a cute book about a mom getting sick so her husband and kids do everything she usually does around the house and lets her sleep. I thought it was such a cute book and can teach kids to help out around the house. This is a book that would probably do well in a kindergarten classroom.

    11. It was a sweet cute short story. I like how the story rhymed very well. Also I completely understand why it was voted for on children's choice. The animation was cute and everything about the book was just amazing. Definitely recommend.

    12. Papa and the kids tell Mama to stay in bed and get better since she is sick. Will they be able to take care of her and do all of her chores?

    13. Mama gets sick and her kids and husband make her stay in bed. Meanwhile, the house is a mess. They all rush to clean before mama makes it downstairs

    14. This was a very cute little story about the chaos that ensues when Mama is sick and Dad and the kids have to take care of the house. My daughter enjoyed the vivid illustrations and the rhyme.

    15. Cute story about what happens when mom gets sick and family has to take over mom's duties. Great for Mother's Day or storytime about mothers.

    16. I love the rhyming and sing-song way the words are. It'll be great to hold my preschoolers' attention!
