    1. Kitchen Princess starts out fun and mostly fluffy, like volume one. The love parallelogram between Najika, Daichi, Sora, and Akane is still developing, and Akane is still the mean girl. But then the story veers into much more serious territory, introducing an eating disorder storyline. What surprised me is that it actually isn't that badly done. Najika's help (making food that the girl with ED is emotionally attached to so she'll eat something) may not be helpful in a realistic sense, but it is [...]

    2. A great continuation of the manga. I liked how the manga-ka portrayed anorexia, and how it affects people and the ones they love. I also really enjoyed how this volume ended. I can't wait to get the third volume from the library to continue with this series.

    3. LEL.

Salaisuutena on kermavaahtoon lisätty tilkka kirsikkalikööriä.

    5. If you're a food lover, this book is for you, and if you're not it will make you one. The main character, Najika-san, will win your heart, indefinitely!

    6. Super cute still. Story gets interesting as the girl who hates her develops an eating disorder. The lead girl decides to leave too. But her two male admirers tell her to stay. The girl is really kind to her enemy. Lovely story

    7. 4.5 This manga delves into some real world issues. Not something most people expect given the art style and title. And all the delicious food. *Drool*

    8. 4.32 starsThe rating and review are conclusion for all of the volumes. Except for the synopsis.Oh gosh, the ending is so cute! I mean I didn't expect that kind of ending because of all those bad things that keep on happen.(view spoiler)[My heart hurts so badly when Sora died. I didn't root for him to be with Najika but it still hurts you know? I feel like the author is playing some sort of trick on me especially when Seiya showed up. I mean he looked a bit like Sora so I mean who wouldn't be sur [...]

    9. Kitchen Princess: Volume 2 is another fun book about a young girl's struggle to make it in a highly competitive cooking school in Japan. Najika is a self-conscious student who feels that she just doesn't fit in with all the girls. This is true, but not for the reasons she thinks. Najika is the best darned cook in the school and has yet to realize it. Her friends, Daichi and Sora, know this to be true and are supportive of her in ever decision she makes. Once again, the stories are fun, but this [...]

    10. Najika goes to the brothers' house and can tell what tea something is just by smelling it. (Reminds me of one of the tests used on Hell's Kitchen when Gordon Ramsey tries to determine if the competing chefs can tell what something is by tasting it while blindfolded. Most don't do well, by the way.)Najika has 'an absolute sense of taste.' When she returns to the academy the other girls still seem to hate her. Akane is particularly nasty. The suggestion is made that a professional chef be brought [...]

    11. Kitchen Princess is about a girl named Najika who has an extremely positive an upbeat personality. She has been admitted at Seika Academy’s Special Class because she has a talent in cooking. Through various adventures and mishaps she struggles to find her way along with the help of Daichi and Sora Kitazawa.I read this series on a whim; I was really into cooking at one point. It is cute and fun, just pure enjoyable reading. I was delighted to find out that there are even recipes for what she ma [...]

    12. My favorite thing in the whole wide world is to eat. My next favorite thing to do is to explore cultures through their food. Now, combine that with reading, my other favorite thing to do alongside eating, and you've got a winning recipe!I love this manga because it allows you to escape the hardships of life. The cuteness is cloying, yet somehow it adds to the charm instead of being annoying. Kitchen Princess, Volume 2: Simmering Rivals focuses on Akane and her goals to become a supermodel. I don [...]

    13. well this book was a very quick and simple read i started it about a week ago but only read it twice everytime i say to myself i should just read 20 pages i end up read 80 to 100 in manga book because they are very easy to read there are about like 10-20 words a page so i read 109 pages the first day (half of the book) and i told myself to wait for 3 days to read the rest i didnt want to finish the book in ONE day. Anyway i thought the book was pretty good i havnt read the first one but it isnt [...]

    14. Kitchen Princess vol 2 Summary: SIMMERING RIVALS. Najika has a special gift. She's a marvelous cook whose food always awakens people's fondest memories and feelings of affection. Now she's attending the prestigious Seika Academy, where she hopes to find her "prince," the boy who saved her when she was a little girl. one big problem: It seems that nobody wants her at the college - except two cute brothers, Sora and Daichi, who befriend her right away. But the super-popular teen model Akane will d [...]

    15. At the beginning of this volume, I wasn't sure that I could like Akane any less than I did by the end of Volume One -- I was wrong. I'm hoping, however, that the ending of Volume Two means that things are about to change, for the better.Najika and both boys have all grown on me in a very short period of time, but I still couldn't firmly describe my specific feelings for any of them.I find it odd that Najika's "Flan Prince" seems so incredibly obvious to us, the readers, but Najika, herself, is s [...]

    16. Impress me, it did. In this volume, Najika gets the chance to prove herself to her class when Sora proposes a contest between her and a chef of Akane's choice from Cantina. When Najika wins, things finally start to go her way. We also learn more about Akane, and Sora and Daichi start to get along again more and more.I thought this volume was an improvement on the first and was well-paced. This time around, the delectable goodies were so powerful, I found a hunk of someone's chocolate bar stuffed [...]

    17. Najika's ability is cool. O.o "Absolute sense of taste" She can judge a taste without comparing it and once she tastes something, she'll never forget it. She can also tell what's in it and how it is made. XD waah! honto ni sugoi. :O man the girls are so jealous. Just because the two cute brothers, Sora and Daichi are good to her! :P hahaha Akane wants Najika gone. To settle things, Sora thought of something! a contest. He told Akane to bring a chef with her VS Najika. They'll bake the same cake [...]

    18. Najika has a special gift. She’s a marvelous cook whose food awakens people’s fondest memories and feelings of affection. Now she’s attending the prestigious Seika Academy, where she hopes to find her “prince,” the boy who saved her when she was a little girl. One big problem: It seems that nobody wants her at the college–except two cute brothers, Sora and Daichi, who befriend her right away. But the super-popular teen model Akane will do anything to drive Najika out of the school, e [...]

    19. Akane's personality got another layer in this volume. She wasn't the one-dimensional bitch she was in the first one anymore. Still don't like her, though. I adore Najika. She's incredibly selfless and just wants to help everyone. The guys were cute too and seemed to like each other a bit more than they did at first. These volumes read very fast and I'm liking them. It isn't anything amazing or profound, but I did cry a little bit at Najika's perseverence for saving Akane from herself.

    20. Another great story. I really liked the focus on Akane this time. More compliments on the translation. I love the honorifics explanation page at the beginning. It came in handy when Najika tried to sneak in a "Daichi-kun" and he's just like "Knock that off." I love those little details.I like that they touch on eating disorders and they really add another dimension to Akane's character. I really like characters like her, because flaws are nice and humanizing.(Still no recipes. While I'm glad som [...]

    22. If nothing else, this book reminds me that I am so past all that high school drama. I enjoyed it, but it made me cringe at the same time. Probably a little more engaging for someone currently living through this time. Also, I appreciated the willingness to tackle a deep topic like eating disorders, but I worry that the solution might allow people to think that eating disorders are easily dealt with, when in general they are not.
