    1. Slogged through 53 pages, scanned another 30, & finally acknowledged I didn't give a crap about the characters or the slow-moving plot. Life's too short, right? Anyway, I still didn't give a crap after looking at the resolution in the last few chapters. Meh. The "conflict" seemed like a lot of talking heads & conversational half-truths, but not nearly enough action to keep things moving at a steady pace.     2. Thank God that's over! With mostly positive reviews I was expecting a scandalous generational saga. What I got was a long- winded, underwhelming, and flat 420 pages of blah. Two stars is only for the writing style which was decent but not enough to save this snooze fest.

    3. I have read this book many times, along with its companion, "Family Truths". Leahy makes the characters believable and relatable, and you can't help but be drawn into their lives.
