    1. My favourite thing about this book is the photographs, which are truly stunning. I was expecting to come out with a lot or recipes I wanted to try but I've only got a handful - perhaps the book club has spoiled me in that we've tried so many regional cuisines and gotten a more thorough look at each than this book is able to provide. Also, there are several of the meals she describes which made me think 'aha, there's a recipe I want' - and then sadly those are the ones she doesn't have :( Nonethe [...]

Josceline Dimbelby is one of the writers that talks to her readers like they were her closest kin, sitting together for high tea where she opens up her world, her life and even her heart to you. This book is a memory of the world she has seen and she captures it with details, anecdotes and most importantly food. She doesn't just write receipes, she writes the story behind every meal. This book is as unique to me as it is special.

I liked this book because as the title indicates it is not only recipes, but a travel journal and memoir, and so is not merely picked up when you are looking for something to cook.I am not always a fan of certain types of food, but as the recipes are influenced by her experiences and memories, it makes you more inclined to want to try them.

    4. An enjoyable read with great recipes. I liked the stories and photos of her younger days, and the recipes are on my must make list. I enjoy cookbook/memoirs and this is a fun addition to my library.
